Cousin James and son of John Fecarotta speaks out
A CBS reporter was contacted by James Fecarotta, son of mobster John Fecarotta, to express his outrage at his cousin, Renee Fecarotta, cast member of the new series Mob Wives Chicago. James says that his father was brutally murdered in 1986 and his cousin, Renee, who had little to do with her uncle, is now use her family connection to him to make money. James is mainly upset because the reality series is making the family relive the circumstances of his father's death. James claims that cousin Renee changed her named from Renee Russo to Renee Fecarotta Russo for purposes of the show.
John Fecarotta killed in 1986
In the interview, James says that his father was the victim of a crime. He has no idea why his father was killed. He says his father moved the family away from the Italian neighborhood they lived in years before his murder and that his father made his living from his own restaurants. Now James is angry that Renee, who says she was raised and mentored by her uncle John in her VH1 bio, and even changed her name, is trying to cash in on his father's memory. James says Renee's portrayal of her relation with his father is "a joke." He says she wasn't even a close part of the Fecarotta family. James says this is causing the rest of the family pain, including his own children, who are now being teased at school about their last name.
Renee and others from the show have been contacted, but refused to comment.
