I cannot believe this is the last show of the last season of Mob Wives! We started this blog almost 5 years to the day, just before season one premiered in April, 2011. It's been a long, long ride. It started with two friends who met online and wanted to write something together for fun. We got a whole lot more than a hobby out of it. We met and spoke with all the Mob Wives at one time or another, and the show's Executive Producer, Jennifer Graziano. We made friends with other diehard fans who shared our views and opinions and with many who didn't. It's been quite an experience to say the least. Thank you to all our loyal readers for sharing your thoughts on the show and it's cast week after week. We appreciate all of you. And now for the recap . . .

And away we go!

It's the last night of Renee's Ballroom dancing so she invited the girls to her recital. This is the new, improved Renee. In come Carla, Marissa, and Karen with a bouquet of flowers. AJ and his girlfriend arrive. Renee comes out with her instructor and they are doing the Rhumba! Renee seems a little nervous, but she performs flawlessly. Everyone is impressed with Renee's dancing skills. Renee is proud of herself. She is proving she can do anything. She thanks everyone for coming. It's great to see Renee really happy and enjoying life after all we have seen her go through. AJ's dancing idea was brilliant and I'm glad she listened to him. Now, if we could only get Dancing With the Stars to give her a call, we could get Renee back on our screens and give me something to blog about!

Delusions? 

Ang's House. Drita arrives. She has that Orange Glow (not the furniture polish, at least I don't think so). Ang is making her coffee. Ang finds it hard to breathe since the lung surgery. Ang says she is trying to keep positive now that she found out she is cancer free. Without skipping a heartbeat, Drita tells Ang about the things Brittany told her that Karen said about Lee. Drita is "really really really pissed off." Ang says Marissa swears she never told Drita it was Karen who said the men (Lee and OZ) talked to each other about the girls playing nice. Drita is even more angry and thinks Marissa is out of her mother f*ckin' mind. Drita insists Marissa told her Karen said it. Too bad the world saw Marissa tell all the ladies, and then Drita herself, the story of the men talking and Karen's name did NOT come out of her mouth . . . it came out of Drita's! In fact the way I remember it is, Marissa tells Drita word on the street is the men were talking. Drita says, who could have put that out there? Not Renee, not Carla. I'll tell you who did it . . . Karen Gravano! Then Drita really loses it! Drita says this is my f*cking island [Staten Island]. Karen has to move and she says she will torture her until she moves. She's gonna kick her the f*ck out. Drita is screaming about Karen and Marissa like she is out of her mind. Now she is done with the two of them. Poor Ang. Does Drita ever think of anyone but herself? Seriously? She wants to go ape sh*t about Karen and Marissa in Ang's kitchen when she is still recuperating from her surgery, dealing with cancer and hates fighting? How about taking the petty problems that you created in your imagination, to Dr. Phil and leave Ang in peace? Maybe Dr. Phil can shrink her head?

Karen and Karina go driving. Karen wants Karina to get some practice parking. Karina isn't taking it too seriously. Karina looks at Karen more like a friend than a mother. Karen wants to know how she got her permit, she doesn't understand some of the basics, like parallel parking. Karen seems a little stressed, like my father when he tried to teach me to drive. Karen says because Karina is in the same school as Aleeya she is concern that this war with Drita is going to spread to the next generation. Karen here's a tip, send Karina to Driver's Ed and then get her extra driving lessons before you try teaching her anything.

Is this Marissa?

Drita's house. She even more orange now if that's possible. Maybe she ate too many carrots? Drita calls Marissa. When Marissa answers, Drita isn't sure who the hell she called because she is "bent." Who is this? Is this Marissa? she asks. Marissa is confused, the last time they talked they had a good conversation and now Drita is mad. Drita isn't even making any sense, just ranting on and on and on. Drita wants to meet up with Marissa, Brittany, Karen to find out who said what. Marissa wants to know why she needs her minion, Brittany, there? Drita calls Karen a rat. Marissa says you know you are hanging out with a family of rats, right? Drita is screaming in Marissa's ear the whole time with lots of cursing and threats.

Oooo you sound really mad, huh?

Marissa says her classic line "You sound really mad, huh?" All the 99 veins in Drita's head and neck are popping out. Marissa says she doesn't understand her Napoleon complex, if anyone should be mad it should be her because Drita has her name in her mouth. Drita goes on the rant of rants, screaming and cursing even more. All I know is someone in that crew needs to call 911 before she has a stroke. Drita wants the meeting to happen tomorrow and she is yelling at the cameraman and whatever crew happens to be there. I think they all should get hazard pay.

"The Meeting." Drita and Brittany are driving to meet Karen and Marissa. Drita is bent out of shape. Still. She is going to show everyone what the f*ck Karen is all about. She is her boss. That's Drita's new game. Wait! What? Drita thinks she is Karen's boss? And get this, she is going to tell her what to do and what to say! Hell no! Karen tells Marissa that Drita can't win with her words because she is a liar, a fraud, and a snake. Karen says Drita will not disrespect her. If she wants to fight her she will fight her, but first they need to talk about it. They have a lot of history.  Marissa would respect Drita if Drita would say she thought she heard her say Karen's name, but if she didn't then it's her bad. I can guarantee that will never happen. Drita was the one who concluded it had to be Karen and we all saw it. And Drita can go back and rewatch the episode if she has any doubts now.

Meanwhile, Carla, who isn't at this meeting, is worried about the outcome, she thinks they are going to kill each other. Drita tells Brittany she is taking it old school, no more nice guy. Drita makes all kinds of threats on the way to the meeting. Tonight they are going to find out who the boss is. Karen says Drita can't deal with he truth. Karen says Drita doesn't want to fight Karen, she wants to fight the truth and she can't win. They all arrive at the restaurant.

Drita tells Brittany she welcomed Karen with open arms years ago. She is so mad now. Karen has been backstabbing, lying and talking about her and her husband. Karen says she let Drita into their world and the fact Karen knows her all too well terrifies her. Drita starts screaming as soon as Karen walks into the restaurant and calls her a rat. Marissa wants to have a conversation and tries to get one started about who said the men were talking. She barely gets started when Brittany starts verbally attacking Marissa trying to goad her into fighting. No one can get a word in with Brittany screeching and then Drita joining in. Karen and Marissa remain calm waiting for the conversation. Drita keeps yelling across the table at Karen. Karen keeps calling Drita a "dumb b*tch," saying she called the meeting but doesn't talk.

Drita screams at security that she doesn't need them there. She starts screaming at Karen. The "Fight" breaks out with Drita lungeing at Karen over the table and Brittany making a dive at Marissa. Security guards jump in and grab each of the women. Karen says the fact Drita just wants to fight and not talk proves she can't handle the truth. She doesn't want to hear the truth, she is a disloyal b*tch. Karen tells Drita she never ratted on anybody, if she did Lee would be in jail. Karen says no one likes Lee, they talk bad about him on the street, he cheats on Drita. Karen says she isn't scared of the truth. Karens yells to Drita, "You are irrelevant B*tch, I showed up to tell you that." Karen says Drita is all about the theatrics. Karen says she created a fake persona, fake green screen monster, gangster b*tch, lady boss. "She's a fake, fraud, rat b*tch." Drita says Karen came back to SI to make trouble and to talk about Drita and Lee. She is going to smack her and call her out every time she sees her. And then everyone goes their separate ways since no conversation will be happening.

Well, nothing came out of that at all. Drita is all worked up about things that never happened. She made up her mind Karen started the rumor between Lee and OZ, when she made it up. Karen did not come back to Staten Island to talk about Drita and Lee. She came back to be on the show to help her friend Jenn out because her name was the big draw for production and viewers. She came to have a platform and exposure for her book. She came back at great personal sacrifice of having to leave her daughter behind in order to be able to give her daughter a better life. She didn't come back to talk about Lee and Drita. If you read her book, they are barely mentioned in it. They are insignificant in the overall story of her life. I don't know how Drita can believe Karen would care enough about her and Lee to come back to Staten Island? In fact, all Karen tried to do was to talk to Drita and try to reestablish their friendship, but Drita wasn't having it. I think Drita felt jealous and threatened by Karen and maybe even guilty because she married her ex and never had the decency to tell her. But what do I know? Anyway, the finale tries to wrap up the loose ends in the last minutes. Frankly, we needed at least two more episodes to give us satisfaction and closure. This season was just too rushed.

Two months later.  Time to wrap things up.

Karina has been booked for a huge modeling gig and Karen has been focused on her daughter.  Karen says they are very close and she considers her her best friend. Karens says she doesn't speak to Drita since that night. Drita knows nothing about loyalty. Karen says she grew up in the lifestyle and now she understands it is about loyalty, a brotherhood and protecting your family. Those are the core values in life. She says she is connected to Renee, Ang and Carla by the lifestyle they grew up in. She wants her family to come together and be successful. Karen's crime? Giving the wrong people respect.

Renee is in the best place in her life that she has been in the last 6 years. She is going to keep moving forward. She says the group girls have been through so much, good times, bad times, ups and downs, some will remain friends and others won't. AJ is her entire world. She is impressed by her son. Renee says her crime is falling in love with the lifestyle that was made for men.

Carla says her life has changed so much the last 5 years. Her kids are her life. They are 13 now. She doesn't regret growing up in the lifestyle, but she doesn't want it for her kids. She just wants them to be successful and smart, and be their own person. Carla says she is extremely loyal. Her crime, being loyal to a fault.

Drita calls Lee down to dinner and we see a man come down the stairs, but they don't show his head. I think we've seen enough of Lee in the parking lot, don't you? Drita feels her family has been in the best place it's ever been. Drita says it's all about protecting your family. Drita says Karen is a back stabbing, story telling b*tch is irrelevant to her life. Ang was always a true friend to her. She doesn't want to change anything in her life right now. Drita's crime, staying in love with a former professional bank robber. (Gag).

Ending with Big Ang and her family, talking about the difficult road ahead with her health issues.

What's done, is done. And the Big Big Bang scene with Renee, Karen and Carla walking down the street, they stop for a second and turn to look at Drita who is off to the side, then turn back and continue walking! Drita is left standing alone. Is it me or did anyone else think Drita was sad, maybe even crying, before that scene was filmed?  In those few seconds the show really summed up everything. That was brilliant!

We would like to thank Executive Producer, Jennifer Graziano, for creating this show and putting everything she had into it. The concept was amazing and puts the other "housewife" shows to shame. And, we would like to thank Karen Gravano, Renee Graziano, Carla Facciolo, Angela Raiola and even Drita D'Avanzo for sharing their personal lives with us for five years, on and off the show. Renee and Ang especially shared some of the most difficult life experiences anyone can ever go through and they did it to help others. Karen kept it real. She is an open book. Her story, growing up as the daughter of the most notorious underboss in New York crime family history, is compelling. Carla, what can we say, you are loyal to a fault, we've all seen it. Ang will be missed by many more than just Mob Wives fans. She touched so many hearts beyond just the show. It's hard to believe she is really gone.

Thanks too to Ramona Rizzo and Love Majewski, who have the mob ties and history and brought a lot to the show.  They were only in the show a season or two, but they were always missed by fans.

Thanks to my blog crew: Mob Mistress, Underboss, and Carmela for all the help behind the scenes. This show helped bring us all together and that will not change now that it's coming to an end.

Mob Wives: Recap "Drittany," Ep 609

Another Steakhouse wasted, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

Carla and Renee go visit Ang now that she is home from the hospital, to keep her spirits up. Carla brings a tray of fish to warm up. Thank God it wasn't her escarole and beans dish.  Ang has her hair and makeup done. Karen arrives. Ang is in pain, but wants to cook for them. She tells them the doctors took more of the lung because it was deeper than they thought. She credits Neil for being there for her, sleeping the chair every night. She says it's so painful. They hope she doesn't need chemo. Karen tells them her father was denied early release. She has been stressed out going through this process all year. Karen feels the judge is just denying him because he is Sammy "The Bull" and nothing comes easy for him. They all enjoy Carla's meal. I hope she brought her Prosecco wine to go with it!

Giselle is turning 8 and all she wants is another puppy. Drita tells Lee she bought her a one and a half pound puppy. Aleeya and Giselle get home from school. Drita hides the puppy in all Giselle's stuff animals on the sofa. At first she can't even see it. She screams when she finally sees the puppy move. Drita is giving her full responsibility for taking care of the dog.

Brittany is at the park meeting up with Karen. Karen tells her about her visit with her father and how he was denied his early release. Brittany feels Karen has had it worse than she has, living in her father's shadow. The subject of Drita comes up. Again Karen explains how Drita should have come to her if she had an issue, not gone to Brittany. They made a pack at the warehouse not to talk about each other any more. But, of course, Drita is not true to her word and goes to Brittany to talk about her. Karen wishes Brittany would have shut her down and told her to talk to Karen about it. Brittany says she didn't realize they had a 25 year history. Brittany doesn't want to be part of any conflict between Karen and Drita. And Karen says the same way Drita should have gone to her, she thinks Brittany should sit down and talk to Renee and Carla about her issues. Brittany doesn't want to be instigated. Karen says their fathers are friends and she should sit down with the ladies and make this better. Brittany doesn't have a good attitude even though she says she will talk to them. Just what we needed on the show, a Drita wanna be.

Karen is motivated to do something with her father's artwork. She has taken all of it to the curator of a museum to look at. She really wants to show the world there's a different side to her father. The curator is very impressed with is work and the detail. Karen wants to do an exhibit and the curator is willing to show his work. She wants to select the pieces with Karen for a VIP opening. Karen is excited.

Ang is at the doctor for a check up. The doctor says she will be in pain for a while. He goes over her pathology report. He says she had lung cancer, but no lymph nodes were involved so she doesn't need chemo or radiation at this point. She will have to get regular scans to monitor her health. Ang is so happy she wants to go celebrate being cancer free. I am still in shock over Ang's passing. Every medical report that we heard was positive and yet her disease progressed so fast. It's surreal to watch her on the show knowing she is gone.

Who's immature?

Drita meets up with Brittany where she supposedly works, a pastry store. They talk about how great the fashion show went. Brittany fills her in about her meeting with Karen. Drita calls Karen a liar. Drita says Karen was cute when she was younger and got a lot of attention for being daughter the underboss. Drita says she will not talk to her about Karen. Brittany says she is going to talk to Carla and Renee. Drita says Carla is the most immature f*cking person. Well, as long as she doesn't talk about the ladies behind their backs, right? Brittany doesn't want Carla's face in her face giggling. Brittany says they have a stick up their asses because she is friends with Drita. I guess Brittany will never get that the others are trying to warn her to watch her back. They've all been burned in the past. Drita is not friend material. But, she will probably have to learn that lesson the hard way.

Renee goes for another ballroom dance lesson. She enjoys dancing, likes her partner and gets a few laughs out of it.

The day of Sammy's exhibit arrives. It's a full house. Carla and Ang show up. Karina is there. Ang is very impressed with the sketches. Marissa arrives. Ang tells them she is so excited, she is cancer free. No chemo! Carla is so happy to hear Ang's news. They all have a drink. Storm goes over and kisses Karen. He always has her back. He supports her dreams and vision and he supports her supporting her father. Karen says she didn't invited Brittany so the exhibit would be drama free. After meeting her the other day she still has issues with Carla, Renee and Marissa. Ang still thinks this should be resolved with a little sit-down. Carla really doesn't understand how Brittany thinks she is an instigator. Karen wants Brittany to tell them to her face what her problem is. Time to break bread or break heads?

The women, Karen, Renee, and Carla meet at DeStefano's Steakhouse in Brooklyn, to have a chat with Brittany. What a waste of a good meal. You know this isn't going to end good.  Carla is wearing a "bullet" on her necklace and Renee jokingly asks if she is "looking to shoot somebody tonight? Shoot to kill honey."  They are waiting for Brittany, who struts in a minute later. Renee wants to resolve their issues out of respect for Karen and Carla really wants to hear what she has to say before she takes a bite of steak. Karen is happy and pleasant, and tells Brittany she was telling the women about the fashion show and what Brittany did a great job. Renee adds her dig, "Sorry we missed it," knowing she wasn't invited on purpose. Brittany says it wasn't personal, she just wanted the experience to be positive. Renee says she was a little insulted.

Renee tries to break it down and explain to Brittany

Renee is annoyed because Karen asked her to accept Brittany and not cause problems, and she went against what she believed in because Karen is her friend. She welcomed her into her home and would have never caused a problem at her event. Brittany responds saying she just didn't want to hear anything about Marissa, her temper, and she feels every time they are together it's been brought up. Brittany implies that she fought with Marissa because of things that Renee and Carla said to her. Renee gets angry. There is no way Brittany is going to blame her or Carla for her wanting to fight Marissa. Brittany starts to mention the things Marissa called her and how Renee and Carla kept bringing it up, like the "flip-flopper" comment. Big Ang walks into the restaurant!

I did. I said it.

Mystery solved, or is it?

Carla says Angela was the one who said that Marissa called Brittany a flip-flopper, not her. Am I wrong? I love when Carla uses that expression! Ang goes over to sit with the ladies and says she hears a lot of yelling going and wants to know what's up. She wants them to make up and move on, all this arguing is crazy. Carla is glad to see Ang because she wants to clear something up. Ang immediately admits to being the one who said Marissa called Brittany a flip-flopper. Brittany answers they both said it. Brittany asks Carla if she is acting like she didn't say it. Renee and Carla are frustrated. Carla thinks Brittany is dense and can't get it through her head that it wasn't her or Renee who repeated what Marissa said, it was Ang. Brittany says she gets the vibe that Renee and Carla instigated the fight. Carla says that doesn't make sense. Brittany says at the baseball game Carla made a joke about the fight saying that's what happens when you stand up. Carla says she wasn't making a joke. Brittany keeps insisting it's her right to decide who instigated her into wanting to fight Marissa. Carla said she was just trying to give her advice, not laughing. Carla adds, she, Karen and Renee were trying to tell her how to have a conversation with Marissa, not fight with her. Brittany says everyone thinks Drita pumped her up, but she says she felt most aggravated after speaking to Renee and Carla. Sounds like Brittany's mind is made up and no talking, explaining or common sense is going to fix that.

Karen starts to say maybe this whole thing was a misunderstanding, but Brittany cuts her off saying maybe they just can't handle that she likes Drita.  Everyone says it's not about Drita at all. Renee says she doesn't care if Drita drops dead tomorrow. They don't like each other. Karen has a long history of bad blood with her. Renee says before making friends with someone and defending them you should get to know them first. No one cares if she is friends with Drita, that's not the point of this conversation. However, no matter what anyone says, Brittany is stuck on their issue being her friendship with Drita. They insist they don't care if she is friends with Drita. Carla mentions the word teacher. Brittany starts screaming who is my teacher? She turns to Carla and says maybe Drita was your teacher for three years. Carla gets irritated, she doesn't know anything about her friendship with Drita.

Brittany has had enough and walks out

Then Brittany says, "This is who I am you can takeout or f*ckin' leave it." Brittany gets up, things get louder. "Teacher, my ass." Everyone gets up. Brittany says to Carla, "you went hard for Drita for three years." Brittany says her friendship with Karen is done. Karen says she wants to tell Brittany something as she leaves. Karen says she should have listened to Renee from the get go. "Who knew Drita would flip this b*tch faster than the Feds flipped her mother?" Renee gets the satisfaction of being right.

Drita and Brittany meet in the park. Brittany is fed up and she is about to unload it all on Drita. Karen never told her not to like Drita. Drita says they always talk behind her back. Brittany tells her all the things Karen said about Lee in the boutique that ended with  "tell her, tell her, tell her." Drita goes ballistic. Drita promises to give Karen the beating of a lifetime. She is going to break Karen's jaw. Karen Gravano is dead, dead, dead. How many times have we heard that threat?

Mob Wives: Recap "Cuts Both Ways," Ep 608

Neil is a good guy

Watching Mob Wives with a heavy heart. It seems surreal that as we are grieving Ang, she is still bigger than life on our screens. Praying for her family. RIP Big Ang

Drita's house. She is complaining about Karen causing problems in her home and being obsessed with Lee. Delusional. She has finished the first draft of her book and is sending it to her agent. I'll believe it when I see it. She asks Giselle if she wants to check it out. Giselle doesn't seem interested. Smart kid. She asks Giselle what she wants for her birthday. She wants another dog. She tells her to ask Lee, she has him wrapped around her finger. Who thinks Drita is really writing a book? Not me. The thought of her sitting at her computer writing down her fake ass stories makes me laugh.

Renee's house. She sits down with AJ and shows him about three thousand dollars worth of traffic tickets. Whoa! His license is suspended in New Jersey. He pissed in the street and got a citation for $350. Renee is annoyed with his irresponsibility. AJ thinks she needs a hobby. She says he should stop getting tickets so she can afford a hobby.

Brittany spills the beans to Karen

Brittany meets up with Karen at a clothing store. Karen asks her if she invited Renee and Carla to her show. Brittany says no, she didn't want any drama. Karen says Brittany really doesn't understand these women, but she can invite who she wants. Brittany feels she needs to tell Karen about her meeting with Drita because Drita is riled up. Brittany tells Karen that, from what she understood, Marissa told Drita that Karen was bringing up the men. She tells Karen that Drita believes Karen is talking about the men . . . and in particular, "her man, Lee." Karen says, "The b*tch wants to start trouble. I'm not bringing up the men, B*tch." Brittany isn't clear exactly how the conversation went down between Drita and Marissa, but she does know everything was fine between Karen and Drita at the show and now Drita is flipping out. Karen is clear that Marissa said Drita was bringing up the men (which we all saw last week). Marissa said, "Drita was running her mouth in regards to her man reaching out to my man telling us girls to play nice." Brittany says she just wanted to give Karen the heads up because Drita was aggravated and there was some name calling, and Drita also said Karen was still hung up on Lee. Oh please! Let's get real! The only person on this planet hung up on Lee is Drita! Have you seen this dynamic duo in action? If not check out this recent blog, video included. Then you tell me who is "hung up" on Lee!

Has Karen ever been this angry?

Drita accuses Karen for the word on the street.

But now Karen is getting aggravated! She says "I'm done with this little pig b*tch!" Karen says she isn't hung up on her husband. She has a man and Lee could never be half the man he is (in more ways than one!). Karen doesn't give a f*ck about Lee. Karen says Drita is obsessed with her, she wants to do everything she does. She wants to write a book and she is obsessed about the relationship Karen had with Lee. Karen says Drita should keep her name out of her mouth and she won't have a problem. If she keeps her name in her mouth then she and her b*tch ass husband will have a problem. "I know way too many secrets, B*tch!" Oh Karen please write another book and put all your secrets in there! BEST SELLER! Karen explains some history to Brittany. Twenty years ago when Sammy was in the witness protection program, Lee was making visits to go see him in Arizona. Her father was fighting with everyone in the New York mob. He told Lee if you want to be around my daughter you are going to have to prove to me what type of man you are and what camp you are in. When Lee couldn't take the heat, Lee ran. He high-tailed it out of there and he never turned around. And then he asked Karen not to speak to her father and she told him to go f*ck himself and she left. He was scared of what he was going to have to do, he was scared of the situation. He knows that in his f*cking heart. Now Brittany is really squirming because she feels she just started a war by telling Karen what Drita said. And she did.  Karen says this has escalated to a point where no one is going to be able to shut it down. She wants to bring men into it, we can bring men into it. "Her husband is a f*cking swindler, he's a snake, he's a rat, he's a bubble gum gangster, he's a fake. He can't even look in the mirror, he has no face. He's a b*tch too. That's why I saw him walking out of the dry cleaners the other day and he couldn't even look me in the eye. B*tch, your husband's a p*ssy."

Karen turns to the cameramen "You can film that mother-f*ckers!" "Your husband's a p*ssy. Tell her that. Tell her that. Tell her that . . ." I don't think we have ever seen Karen this angry in any other season. Better hire a few more body guards Jenn.

Ang's House. Ang is doing laundry and Neil arrives with a bouquet of roses to apologize and talk. She tells him she doesn't want that junk. She said she was scared to go to the doctor. She had to go alone to find out she had lung cancer. She was hurt. Neil said she never asks or tells him anything. He said he went to all her appointments and he had no idea this one was so serious. He thought is as just for blood tests.  Ang feels overwhelmed and Neil isn't doing enough. He tells her he is sorry and wants to come back home. He wants to be their for her to support her during her medical condition. Her health comes first for now. They make up. Watching this scene was heartbreaking. To be going through this serious health crisis, being overwhelmed and terrified, and continue on with the show in front of millions of people is unimaginable to me. I don't know where Ang found the strength and courage to put it all out there.

Carla, Karen and Renee are at the park playing bocci balls. Karen says she isn't in a good place. She starts to tell them about Drita, but wants to wait for Marissa because her name came up.  Karen tells them about Brittany's fashion show and how Renee and Carla weren't invited. She says she met up with Brittany in the city and told them everything Drita said about her. Marissa says all she did was ask Drita if she was the one talking about their men speaking on the phone. Carla gets angry and wants Brittany to stay in her lane. Renee agrees that Brittany should mind her own business. Karen is done with Drita. They weren't supposed to talk about each other. They made a truce at the warehouse and she never sticks to her word. Karen says Drita is the laughing stock of New York City with that husband of hers.Karen got that right. Karen drops a little bomb . . . Drita got a group people arrested because she was f*cking someone and Karen adds you want to talk about men? Let's get started. Renee says this is a f*cking 911 problem now. Hire some more bodyguards Jenn.

Back to the doctor's office. Neil goes with Ang to the doctor to discuss the lung cancer surgery. The doctor describes the procedure. First they will remove the cancerous lesion and then the top half of the lung where it was located. If it's in the lymph nodes then she will need chemotherapy. Ang is scared. She already had too much surgery and doesn't want any more.

Renee takes AJ's advice and goes for some dancing lessons. She says she was always good at dancing. The instructor wants her to look at him not her feet. She has to trust him, he says. She says then you are f*cked because I trust no one. Renee has some great moves!  Dancing With The Stars are you watching???  Renee is having so much fun, she should have done this years ago.

Carla and Ang go furniture shopping. Ang is the Queen decorator and Carla meds her advice. Ang tells her about the lung surgery and how anxious she is. Carla says Ang has gone through a lot. Ang tells her about Karen flipping out. The whole story comes out about Drita trying to blame Karen for talking about the men. Ang thought this was all resolved and they came to a truce. Carla is angry that Brittany talked sh*t about Karen to Drita when she brought her into the group. Ang thinks Marissa and Brittany should mind their own business. Carla and Ang think that Drita and Karen need to talk this out. They both feel there will be a war if they don't hash it out. Hey Jenn, hired another dozen bodyguards!

Karen's House. Karen wants to spend quality time with Karina and put the Drita BS to the side. Karen takes out all the packages her father sent her with his drawings. He spent 7 years in solitary confinement and spent the time creating art. His work is amazing. It kills Karen that Karina doesn't know her father as well as she should. Karen wants to show his work to the public because they  they only know one side of him, as the most notorious underboss in the New York mob.

Ang drops in at Drita's store for lipstick.  She tells her she is having another surgery. Drita tells her not to think anything negative. Drita knows she will survive and come out on top. Ang tells her there is a big problem brewing between her and Karen. Drita feels Karen has a hard on for her and her marriage. Delusions. Ang tells her that Carla says Karen isn't talking about anything. Drita is screaming about people getting in her business. She is flipping out and prepared to attack. Drita says she has been too nice for too long and they are going to be snapped in half.  She was nice?  She holds up a lipstick and screams, this is Carla! Looks like Carla has been promoted from mothball to lipstick. Drita doesn't want anyone talking about Lee. Next time Lee is mentioned out of Karen's mouth she will make her eat it and put her back in witness protection. Those are some mighty big fighting words! Jenn put the bodyguards number on speed dial!

Karen wants to help Ang get her mind off all the negativity. Karen set up an "art experience" for the girls as a distraction. It works! There is a teacher and she says they will be drawing a nude model. Woo Hoo! They girls all have smiles on their faces. They ask Ang to come up and ask her to help the model, Kurt, take his pants off. Ang doesn't hesitate for a second. Bad Bing, bada boom Kurt is exposed and so is little Kurt! Kurt poses and Carla wants to know what they are drawing? Ang says  "his peeshee." They keep talking about his "peeshee," and then instructor tells them there are no bad drawings so they don't have to "rub" anything out. Ang is having a great time. Karen finds out she doesn't have her father's artistic talent. I think Karen did a great job all the same. Maybe I will do a blog analyzing these drawings. What do you say?

She never lost her sense of humor.

It's the morning of Ang's surgery. Neil and Ang drive to the city to NYU Langone. Her mind is overwhelmed. All she can think about is her children and grandchildren. She is the glue that holds them together. Will she ever see them again? Ang is so glad to have Neil there supporting her. She can't do this by herself. She says she had a full life, but she isn't done here. She wants to see her grandchildren grow up. Neil tells her she'll be fine. This hits very close to home for me. I'm in tears because I know exactly how Ang feels at this moment. We have to find a cure for this disease in our lifetimes so our children will never know what's it's like to lose any one to cancer. RIP Ang.

Mob Wives: Recap "Exes and Whys," Ep 607

Note: I was in the middle of recapping the show when ET released false information regarding Ang's passing. Needless to say it was shocking and evoked a lot of emotion in me and so many of her fans. My Twitter feed was full of grief stricken posts and concern. I tried to keep track of the show and the updates on Ang's condition. I have written a blog in tribute to her memory this morning. I feel Ang is more than just her illness. Most articles today will focus on her surgeries and the progression of her disease. Now for the recap which isn't full of it's usual snark:

Coney Island. Karen, Carla and Renee are at a Cyclones minor league game. Big Ang shows up. Renee is concerned for Angela and her test results. Ang says the game will help cheer her up. Drita and Brittany show up too. Drita is impressed with Renee's plan to watch the game. Brittany says she is ready to move forward from all the BS after talking with Karen. Renee asks if everyone wants to go sit outside. Renee tells Brittany she looks good and asks if she is behaving. Brittany plays dumb. Brittany says you want me to control my anger, but Marissa hit me first. Carla thinks Drita is in Brittany's ear. Brittany and Drita say the same words. Renee tells Brittany that Marissa thought Brittany was going to hit her, she was standing over her in her face talking about fighting. Renee says Brittany has an attitude and is immature and has a lot to learn. Renee tells her, as grown women, they were trying to make the situation calmer. Renee feels Brittany won't move past the petty BS. But Brittany says she isn't a child, she is an adult, and she is over Carla and Renee. Carla asks Drita if someone stands over you and talks about fighting you're not going to hit her? Drita says of course I'm going to hit her. There you have it, Drita basically says Marissa did the right thing. Brittany says when Marissa wants to finish what she started she can come meet her.

Marissa is at the salon. She starts talking about Brittany and how she is easily influenced by Drita. Brittany is young and immature. She says she expected to get along with Drita because their men are friends. She thought Drita would have her back, but no she is defending Brittany instead. Drita has been "egging on the troll" from day one. Marissa wants Drita to prove she likes her.

Manhattan. Ang is going to see a specialist about lung cancer and she is full of anxiety. Neil couldn't make it because he is working. The doctor is going to get her recent CT scans. She says there is a nodule that is growing and looks like early stage lung cancer. Ang says she has already been through hell and back and she is devastated. Ang feels she needs someone there with her. The doctor assures her it very early stage and potentially curable, but it must come out. Ang is scared. It's a nightmare. She is angry because Neil isn't there with her.

Brittany is at a photo shoot for current pictures for her portfolio. Guess who arrives? Drita. Drita does her make-up. Drita sympathizes with Brittany against all the other women. Brittany says Carla is an idiot. Drita says Renee and Carla love the ambush. Brittany is tired of hearing their opinions. Brittany thinks Renee and Carla are instigators who think they can make the rules.

Karen, Carla and Marissa meet for drinks. Of course the subject of Brittany comes up. Karen tells them about her talk and how she said Karen was disloyal to her. Karen says Drita makes other people do her dirty work. Marissa is pissed because she heard word on the street that Drita claims Lee reached out to O.Z. and told him the girls should play nice. Meanwhile O.Z. is on probation and isn't allowed to talk to felons and, if he talks to another felon, he will go back to prison.

Marissa says no way that conversation happened. She is angry that Drita is putting her man in jeopardy. Karen says the best thing to do is confront Drita and if she is in the wrong she will want to fight. We see some old clips of Drita and Karen, they are friends and hugging and then Drita tells Karen they stopped being friends. You can see in the clip how Karen was shocked by Drita's words. Marissa feels she has to speak with Drita about this so called conversation the men had.

Drita: "I would never let anyone hurt you"

"No, we're not friends."

Drita's house. Ang drops by for a visit. She tells Drita she went to NYU to see the specialist for the lung and the doctor told her she thinks is's cancer. Drita hugs her. Ang says everything is happening at once, it's all crashing down. Ang doesn't want to stress out her kids so she isn't telling them anything. Ang turns to Drita. She says Neil is an asshole, she had to go to a doctor all alone to find out she has lung cancer. Drita says Ang has issues asking for help. Ang is done with Neil.

Good question Carla! When does it end?

Carla and Renee meet at a bar. They talk about the girls. Renee says Brittany is a kid and wants to fight. Drita is a mother of two and she wants to fight. Yes, apparently Drita wants to fight on AND off the show. Carla says her kids just turned 13. Joe threw them party for their birthday. She wasn't invited, but she told them she was going to stop by. Her son told her she couldn't crash the party. She feels a distance between her and her kids. They don't do anything as a family since Joe got married.  She says he should never forget while he was in prison it was her and her family that raised his kids. Renee advises her to call Joe and talk about it.

Marissa meets Drita at a bar to hash things out. Drita is shocked that Marissa is confrontational. Drita says she likes Brittany, but she loves O.Z. At th end of the day Marissa feels Drita should have her back over Brittany. Drita says she has nothing to do with Brittany and Marissa's issues. Drita says she does not coach Brittany and, if anything, she told her don't fight, talk. Marissa says she heard that Drita made a remark about Lee calling O and telling him to tell the girls to play nice. Drita says it never happened. Drita says it wasn't Carla or Renee, it could only be Karen who is always talking about Lee. Drita swears she would never say anything like that ever. Drita thinks Karen is obsessed with her marriage and Lee and blames her for this rumor.

Carla needs to talk to Joe. She calls. She says the kids enjoyed the party. She says she didn't like it that her son said she shouldn't crash the party by coming. Carla feels they are divided as a family. He thinks the kids are afraid how she is going to react or how Rachel is going to react if they are together. Carla wants them to all do something together, including Rachel, to show the kids no one has to be excluded. They have to know she is welcome as their mother.

Drita and Brittany talk about her pictures. Brittany wants Drita and Ang to go to her show. She doesn't want Renee and Carla, but she may ask Karen. Drita tells her about her talk with Marissa. Drita says Marissa was asking about a conversation their men had talking about the girls playing nice. Drita swears the rumor was started by Karen. She thinks Karen is miserable because Lee is happily married. Drita feels Karen is running her mouth about Lee, she is a stalker, she is obsessed with Drita's marriage, that they are together and happy. Karen is not an Exe, she's a Why! Drita says she is trying to be mature and not fight. But, if Karen talks about someone she loves she will snap her neck.

Ang's house. She hasn't seen Neil since her doctor's appointment. She is so angry she had to go to the appointment alone. He says he has been working from 6 am to midnight. She says she never sees any money. She doesn't want him around her any more. She wants him out of her house. She just wants to focus on her health. He says he isn't leaving with six dollars in his pocket. He leaves.

Brittany's show. Karen, Ang are there to support Brittany. In comes Drita with a huge attitude looking to crack Karen's jaw for talking about her and Lee. Ang tells Drita she threw Neil out. Karen sees Drita in the corner giving her the side eye. Karen doesn't care, she stays away from Drita. Drita keeps talking bout hitting Karen in the face. Brittany is up on stage. She looks amazing. Drita vows not to do anything to ruin her night, but next time Karen talks about her husband she will drop the b*tch. Drita is delusional if she thinks Karen has anything but disgust for Lee? Have you see him in action recently? I am at a loss for words, but I'm sure you can come up with some of your own.

Marissa got a kick in

The fight between Marissa and Brittany continues with a mini-army of security guards separating the two. They are fighting over nothing says Karen. Brittany makes attempt after attempt to free herself from the guards to attack Marissa. Carla says Brittany "got popped in the forehead." All the ladies try to stop the fight. Brittany calls Renee "a twat" for trying to end the fight. Nice. Marissa is hot under the collar about Brittany getting in her face, while Brittany says she will wait there all night if that's what it takes to fight it out. Drita says she can't fight there with all these people around, it's not like it's a parking lot. So Brittany wants to take it to the parking lot. Where did I see a fight in a parking lot recently? Hmmm

Brittany fought more with security than she did

with Marissa

Karen says Drita acts like Brittany's coach. Marissa says she tried to talk nice, but Brittany was standing and kept getting in her face. This is true, Marissa could not get a word in over Brittany's shouting "fight, fight, fight." Marissa feels threatened and pops her in the forehead. Fight begins! Karen is annoyed with Brittany for not respecting her enough to just have a conversation. After they are separated, Marissa yells over to Brittany that she doesn't want to know Brittany's family because they might call the cops. Marissa tells Karen she is sorry about the fight, she tried to be civil. Karen doesn't blame her. All the blame is on Brittany. She came ready and looking for a fight. Drita understands Brittany. Of course she does, "violence is the answer." Karen says when you get up in someone's face they are going to come out swinging. Carla agrees with Marissa. Karen feels Drita is manipulating Brittany. Marissa says at the end of the day she popped Brittany in the face, she got in a good kick, she came out in tact, and Brittany got thrown out like the trash she is. All's well that ends well if your hair and your boobs are in tact.

And in this corner we have "Rock'em Sock'em" Drita D'Avanzo who is meeting Ang at a building that used to be an old strip club. She is trying to bring back memories for her book. Now this same place is a restaurant. They go in and check out all the remodeling that went on over the years. Drita said she has been shot at and had guns in her face back in the day. Her father must be so proud. Lee used to go there too, but she didn't know him then. Lee doesn't want her to write the book because he closes the door to the past and never looks back. She says he won't read her book. Ang tells her don't let Lee get in her way.

Moving in rules

Renee wiping down the crumbs in her kitchen when AJ and Andrea walk in with their luggage. Their room has been redone for them. She tells them no alcohol and no parties. AJ wants Renee to do the food shopping and cook dinner. Don't forget the snacks!

Marissa goes to see Ang and meet her for drinks. She wants to talk to her about Brittany. Ang tells her she has been going for tests for her health. Ang asks what happened between her and Brittany. Marissa says she walked in pretty and walked out pretty. Marissa says Brittany came with her hair in a braid and kept talking about fighting. Marissa explains when Brittany stood up, she defended herself. Ang says Marissa threw the first punch. Marissa says Ang seems to side with Brittany. Ang shouldn't blame her because of the way Brittany provoked her. Brittany makes her want to hit her. She wants Ang to warn Brittany she will never get the best of her.

Drita meets with Brittany and Andrea, Brittany's mother. Brittany is pissed off about what happened with Marissa and she wants Drita to tell her mother what went down. Brittany said Marissa threw the first punch, it landed but it didn't hurt her. Drita says she is a fighter and a fighter should be able to fight her f*ckin' battles. They are both pissed off at Karen, who was mad because Brittany was looking at Drita. Why can't she look at Drita? Drita says Karen should have called Brittany to see how she is doing. That's loyalty. Wait, what? Look who's talking? Drita is giving friendship advice now? Friends call each other? Did I just hear that? Is that why Drita called Karen to tell her she married Lee? And when "Carla disappeared off the face of the earth," did Drita call and ask how she was doing? Meanwhile, Andrea gets herself all worked up and starts yelling that their families go back 25 years and Karen doesn't have her daughter's back? Respect is earned. Karen should have been in her daughter's corner. They feel Karen chose Marissa's side. Maybe if they watch the episode ten times they will all see that Karen told both girls to talk it out of respect for her, Marissa was trying to talk, Brittany was agitated, not listening and standing over Marissa in her face yelling over her. Oh well.

Ang gets the bad news, all is not well

Ang was called in by the doctor to go over test results. Neil goes with her and he always supports her. The doctor says they saw suspicious nodules in her lung and they have the potential to be cancerous. He wants a specialist in the field to do a biopsy. Ang is disgusted and says she will not go through any more surgeries. She would rather die. She insists she can't do this any more. The doctor insists she needs to take care of her health. She is worried, speechless and scared.

Carla and Karen meet up at Carla's new house. Boxes are all over the place. Every room has to be painted. Karen likes it. Carla wants her to see the before and after pictures. Back to the fight. Carla thinks Brittany was out of control. Carla says Marissa wasn't there to fight in a bikini and heels. Brittany came ready for a fight. Karen told her she wanted them to talk, but Drita pumped up Brittany so much and manipulated her into fight mode. Karen says Drita is trying to put a wedge into her relationship with Brittany. Carla doesn't think that Brittany had any reason to get that upset. Karen says she asked Marissa to talk and she was prepared to talk.

Drita is at her store, talking to prize package Lee on the phone. She tells him about the old strip club she visited. She says Lee would chill there back in the day with three girls at his table. She brings up her book and once again he is disgusted. She wants his support. He is stressing her out by not having her back. He doesn't want her talking about it. She wants him to be happy for her. All of a sudden Lee changes his attitude about the book. Really? Are we supposed to take this whole book thing and Lee's attitude seriously? The best thing I have heard about this book is when Karen told Drita she should start her book, "The day after I met Karen Gravano . . . "

Brittany questions Karen's loyalty

Brittany is meeting up with Karen at a diner, questioning her loyalty and friendship. Brittany seems agitated right from the start. Brittany says she is disappointed. She wanted to fight that girl. She says everyone pumped her up and then told her not to fight.  She feels Karen picked a side and it's with Marissa. Brittany feels Karen has no loyalty to her.  Karen is pissed. She welcomed her to her home, she squashed the situation between her and Renee and she tried to resolve the problem between her and Marissa. Karen asks where is her loyalty? Karen asked her to have a conversation and talk it out, not fight. Brittany says her loyalty to Karen doesn't extend to all the other women. Karen tells her that she asked the same thing of Renee, to respect her enough to leave Brittany alone and she did. Karen said she asked her to sit down and talk, but she was standing over Marissa and ready to fight. Karen says Drita is not Brittany's friend, she is Karen's enemy. Karen says she manipulates people. Brittany says she likes Drita and feels she is the only one who had her back. Karen says she is going to put this behind them and will continue her friendship with both girls. Brittany says she doesn't trust Karen 100%. Karen says the relationship is tarnished and she will keep an eye on her.  It's so ironic that Brittany questions Karen's loyalty over that of flip flopping Drita. Maybe she should have watched all the previous seasons before aligning with the "we're not friends like that anymore" Drita?

Karen says Ang's health issues put

Ang is meeting with Karen and Renee. She tells them about her CT scan and the spot on her lungs which could be cancer. She says she can't even think about more surgery. She is scared and worried about dying. Ang starts crying, it's heartbreaking. She says everyone in her family relies on her and she doesn't want to worry them so she keeps everything to herself. Karen says you can't be strong for everyone all the time. Karen says this puts everything into perspective, and all the ridiculous fighting over petty Bull Sh*t. Ang says she is drained and mentally, emotionally and physically exhausted.
