Mob Wives: Recap “Hell On Heels” Ep 202

Renee enjoys her party, before the fight breaks out!

At The Party! We begin back at Renee’s party with Big Ang trying to make peace between Drita and Karen.

Drita explains she wants to make up with Karen..Karen is tired of the lies.

A confrontation takes place on the balcony. Drita is trying to convince Karen she wants to make up, but immediately we see that Drita isn’t always honest. Drita’s lies are what upset Karen the most. For example, Drita tells Karen she never said they weren’t friends, but there is a clip from last season, where she clearly says that when she “got with Lee” she and Karen were not friends. Karen also has issues with Drita and Carla for telling all of Staten Island that Drita put Karen in the hospital after the rooftop rumble. Karen was never in the hospital, and didn’t appreciate them spreading lies. That’s lie number two. Karen’s last issue, in this conversation, is with Drita accusing Karen of sleeping with one of her ex-boyfriends. Karen insists that isn’t true and she has no reason to lie. Karen ends by saying that everything Drita says is a lie. For someone who doesn’t like liars and lies being spread them, Drita is a hypocrite. I can’t blame Karen for being angry; when someone spreads lies about you it’s very upsetting. But, unfortunately, Karen will never get any satisfaction from Drita about any of those issues.

"I think it's important to state that we weren't friends when I hooked up with Lee!"

Ramona is right on the money when she says, this is not the time or place to have this conversation. However, she won’t leave Karen alone with Drita, after what happened on the rooftop, because she doesn’t trust her.

While Karen is expressing her feelings to Drita, Drita suddenly appears to feel threatened and looks scared. Ramona comes over and Drita says, “What’s going on?” Ramona tries to calm them both down. She keeps saying over and over, “keep it normal” it’s Renee’s party, we‘re not going to do this here. A split second later, Drita throws the first punch, and a fight breaks out between the three women. But, while the brawl is going on, we later learn that Derek Tobacco, Drita’s friend, is not only there, but in the middle of all the fighting.

Ramona is pulling Drita’s hair to pull her back, but Drita won’t stop punching. Renee is upset that they are all disrespecting her and ruining her party. Drita is dragged off by Derek. But Ramona sees blood on her hand, and thinks Derek is the one who hit her. She wants to get him to “kill him.”

Derek Tobacco in the center, trying to help Drita.

Meanwhile, Renee is taking care of Drita, who is sobbing and her eye is very red and swollen. Drita’s crying and yelling, and accuses Renee of setting her up. Meanwhile Ramona and Karen are screaming for Derek. Ramona and Karen are going after Derek and Renee cannot believe he would hit a woman. Then Renee remarks that her party celebrating life turned into a “death at a funeral.”

Drita doesn’t want to be with Renee. She really feels Renee set her up to get jumped by Ramona and Karen. Renee keeps yelling at her “what happened?” Renee is still trying to figure out what happened and take care of Drita. She wants to get her ice for her eye.  Junior tries to calm Karen down. Drita is still crying saying, “yous all set me up.” Renee swears she would never do such a thing and tells Drita to punch her in the face, if she really believes Renee could do such a thing to her.

Karen flings a plate like a professional discus thrower!

Karen and Ramona see Derek and go after him, but he says he never hit Ramona, he says he was helping her (by holding Drita back). Karen starts throwing plates like she is at a Greek wedding. Renee is upset about her party being ruined and even more concerned that Junior, who is out on bail, could get into trouble. She tells everyone to leave the party and go home. Ramona feels bad, but she sys she and Karen didn’t start it and it escalated into a war. Karen won’t leave as long as her cousin is there with blood on her face. Karen talks to Renee and tells her Drita hit her first. Renee, who is angry, answers she doesn’t care what happened, it shouldn’t have happened tonight! Suddenly, the men are getting involved and Derek needs to go home because they are looking for him. Renee keeps trying to create a distraction to give Derek time to get away before he gets a beating. By the time the men find Derek they are in the parking lot, and Derek is in his car taking off. Junior punches the window of his car.

At Carla’s house, she says she doesn’t care she missed Renee’s party after everything she heard that went down.  Carla calls Drita about “the crazy sh!t that went down at the party.” She leaves a message on Drita’s phone, she wants to know what went on so she could compare stories. Compare stories? Who made Carla the designated judge of what happened?

Big Ang tells her the story of what happened. She says she was trying to make peace between Drita and Karen and it backfired in her face. Big Ang tells her friend that Drita got a black eye in the fight, Ramona a bloody mouth and there was no singing Happy Birthday to Renee, the party was ruined.

Ang's Party Recap: "Drita's black eye, Ramona's bloody mouth, Karen throwing plates!

Renee tells Junior and AJ that she went over to the balcony and saw fighting, blood and hair. Drita’s eye was swollen shut. Ramona tells Karen the cake wasn’t even eaten and the presents were destroyed. She also said there were rumors going around that Ramona and Karen jumped Drita. Apparently, Karen was the one who clocked Drita and hit her in the eye. But, before Drita fans get upset, Drita clearly threw the first punch. And then we learn, at the end of the episode, that Derrick never hit Ramona at all, it was Drita’s ring that grazed Ramona’s face when she swung and missed. Karen says she is done with the Drita situation. And, Karen seems pleased when she says that Drita is always talking about putting people in the hospital, but this time the ambulance came for Drita. So Karen not only throws a mean plate, she throws a mean punch!

At Drita’s house, Carla comes to pay a visit and gets the scoop about the party. We get the first look at Drita’s eye and it’s still red and swollen! Ouch! Carla feels bad she wasn’t there for Drita. Drita starts to explain her version of the events. She refers to Karen and Ramona as “Fatal Attraction and Lucifer.” She says they walked in together and Drita was told Karen wanted to make up with her. WHAT?  Did I hear that right? I have been watching very closely and never, ever heard Karen say she wanted to make up with Drita. Then Drita adds that Karen was mad because she heard that Drita was telling everyone in Staten Island that she put Karen in the hospital. Drita claims she heard Karen was in the hospital, so what else was she to think? She says she always puts people in the hospital. So she concluded that she put Karen in the hospital too. However, Karen tweeted, while the show was on the air, and asked all reporters to check all the hospitals on S.I. for her medical records, she was never in any of them. Then Drita says that Ramona stepped in while she was talking with Karen, and that next time she (Drita) is going to carry a wrench with her. She felt set up. Drita says she will never try to make up with Karen ever again.

I guess Karen would know if she was in the hospital!

Ramona and Karen are walking around Little Italy, in Manhattan, on Mulberry Street. They are reminiscing about the old days and Ramona says, “you can feel Italian here.” Karen says that Ramona never turned her back on her family when her father, Sammy, turned informant. They go to a mob museum to look at the exhibits. Ramona says that her grandfather, Lefty Ruggiero, was a member of the Bonanno crime family and is known for the movie Donnie Brasco, which was about his life. Al Pacino played her grandfather in the movie. Ramona says she told Al Pacino to “do it big.” Ramona’s eyes soften as she talks about her grandfather. Her grandfather had a reputation in the mob, but she knows him as a man who had a great love for his family. The legacy he leaves is nothing but love.

Junior calls Renee from court. He was arrested last January in the biggest Federal drug bust in history and is out on bail. He is going to court with his lawyer to work out a plea agreement. Renee wishes him good luck and tells him she loves him.

Later Junior and Rene talk. He tells her how nervous and scared he was after she went through her surgery and almost died. He thought he was going to lose her. She asks why was he scared, because he loves her or is in love with her? He says he is in love with her and Renee gets all emotional. They have been separated for 12 years and she has waited a very long time to hear him say those words. He wants to work on things and try to get back together. Renee is afraid of more cheating and getting her heart broken again. Junior thinks they have a chance. Renee says it’s all or nothing. She has to trust him with her heart. She has always loved him.

My two cents. As for the party, Ramona was 100% right from the beginning. She said that conversation should not be happening at Renee’s party. People refer to her as a trouble maker, but I do not see why. She remained nearby while Drita and Karen were talking because she knows about Drita’s propensity for violence and that Drita lashed out at Karen last season on the rooftop. When things were getting heated, Ramona was the one who stepped in, with a cool head, and tried to calm them both down. I heard her say several times that it’s Renee’s party, let’s “keep it normal” and we are leaving (meaning her and Karen). Then Drita’s fist flew through the air. That ended “normal.” If someone attacks you, you have the right to defend yourself, and that’s what Karen and Ramona did. Let’s not forget that Drita wanted to talk to Karen, not the other way around. Karen was even avoiding her text messages. And as Judge Judy says, if you start a fight and get the bad end of it, that’s your own fault. Who am I to question Judge Judy’s wisdom?  Anyway for a tough talking cookie, Drita sure does cry a lot.

I do feel bad that Renee’s party was ruined. It was an especially important party because she had survived a deadly, botched up surgery and she wanted to celebrate her life. If I was one of the mob wives I would never have a birthday party, all parties end in fights. It’s just too risky. Renee had to take care of Drita and look out for Junior because he could not afford to have his bail revoke over a fight. If Renee wanted drama she couldn’t have gotten more of it if she tried! I hope she had a do over party after this fiasco.

Has anyone called Carla a trouble maker? She always seems to egg Drita on about everything. I remember last season when Karen gave Drita chapter one of her book as a peace offering, Carla told her not to read it. Had Drita read it she would have seen there was nothing about Lee in it. Karen did it to reassure her, but Drita jumped to her hotheaded conclusions and Carla just squirts gasoline on every fire. So now Carla wants to hear what happened at the party so she can compare stories? Like she is going to side with anyone, but Drita in this one. Please! It ain’t happening.

Junior and Renee. They look good together. They have their tender moments. I could hear the quiver in Juniors voice when he said he was scared of losing Renee. But, at the same time, I am scared for Renee. I don’t want to see her hurt again, especially after all she has gone through. I think we already know the ending to this story. Junior, the wiretap, Renee’s father is back in prison…I’ll leave it at that out of respect for Renee and AJ. They are both strong people and I sincerely hope they will heal from this hurt and come out of it stronger at the end of the day.

I was too busy writing to catch the coming attractions last night, but I am sure the Mob Wives are going to deliver another great episode! They just seem to be getting better.

I Married A Mobster: Recap of Daddy’s Girl

“Daddy’s Girl” is the story of “Little” Linda Scarpa/Schiro, the daughter of Greg Scarpa and Linda Schiro. Linda was born in 1970. At that time, her father Greg, had two families, a legitimate one in Staten Island and one with Linda Schiro in Brooklyn.

Little Linda remembers that the family all got together for dinner, every night at 5 PM. That was a rule of the household. Family was very important to Greg, who was a mob enforcer for the Colombo crime family. Greg was, in fact, considered the most powerful guy in the crime family. He guarded his family and protected them and would think nothing of killing anyone who threatened them in any way.

Linda says she started to figure out who her father was in her mid-teens. His friends all dressed well. Linda relates how she and her brother were taken back and forth from school by a car service. One day Joey was sick and she went to school alone. The driver took her to Prospect Park and was going to rape her. He tore her shirt. Linda told him he didn’t have to do this, she would go with him after school later that day. So he dropped her off at school where Linda called her mother and told her what happened. Her mother picked up Linda from school. The next thing Linda knows, the driver was killed. She can only assume that he had no idea who her father was.

Linda says that mobsters came over to the house all the time. They would discuss mob business in front of Linda and Joey, but they didn’t want to hear about these things. She recalls how sometimes Greg’s friends would disappear and she figured out that they must have gotten killed. It was upsetting to her.

Linda has a Sweet 16 Party, but none of her friends show up. They are afraid of Greg. She says that Greg wanted her to be independent so he got her a job at the Stock Exchange. That didn’t work out too well, Linda did not want to start at the bottom and work her way up. She was too used to being a mob princess.

Linda liked to party and go to clubs. Greg wanted her to go to the clubs where his friends were, so they could keep an eye on her. Linda didn’t like that. When she left those clubs she would tell the valet that a particular car was hers, even though it wasn’t, and drive it home. Her father would see these cars in the driveway and told her she shouldn’t be doing that.

Linda had a hard time meeting people, everyone was afraid of Greg, so she couldn’t make real friends. But, in 1990 she married Freddie Assini and had a son. Greg couldn’t be prouder.

Then Greg contracts AIDS from a blood transfusion and becomes ill. At this time the Colombo family is falling apart. There is fighting amongst the family for control and power. They all know how powerful Greg is and want to get rid of him to make it easier for themselves. One day, Linda says, she was leaving the house the same time as her father and a van pulls up between them. The next thing she knows, a group of men, all dressed in black, with ski masks, jump out of the van and begin shooting at Greg’s car. Linda’s car in in the crossfire. She is terrified and her baby son is sitting right next to her. The assassins speed away and Linda runs back to her mother’s house screaming and believing that her father had been killed. Ten minutes later Greg walks through the door crying and swearing he would kill everyone involved in that shootout.

Greg is an irate maniac. He would drive around with his crew every night to track down those responsible and shoot them. The family never knew if he was going to some home at night. Linda realizes that her father is not invincible and neither are they. Even innocent family isn’t safe from the mob. She has nightmares and can’t get over the incident. She is afraid to do anything. All this while there is a Colombo civil war going on with members killing each other.

Joey gets himself into some trouble. Someone pulls a gun on him. Greg overhears him telling his mother about it. He goes wild and gets his gun. Sick as Greg is, he goes out looking for the guy. Linda hears gunshots and screaming a block and a half away. Five minutes later Greg comes through the door, he is bleeding, but doesn’t want Linda to touch him because he has AIDS. Linda runs out to look for her brother. She checks the car and he is not in it, but his friend is in the backseat, shot and in bad shape. She says this scarred her for the rest of her life, she never got over it.

Joey finally comes through the door in shock. He thought his father and friend were both dead and he felt responsible. Linda tells him they are both in the hospital. He tells her he was there when they got hit, but he blacked out. When he came to, he started to run. Joey’s friend died two days later. Greg was taken to jail where he died soon after.

The Scarpa curse doesn’t go away. It hangs over the head of Joey Scarpa, the heir apparent. After Greg dies, Little Linda picks up the pieces of her life, but Joey goes into the life himself. He rips off a drug dealer from another family. He has no protection on the street now that his father is dead. Joey is shot and killed. Linda goes to tell her mother, after calling an ambulance first. She knows her mother is going to take the news hard. She tells her mother that Joey is with Daddy now. Little Linda is so upset she couldn’t go to her brother’s funeral. She said she went to the cemetery after everyone left and stayed there all day.

She ends by saying that the mob life is a horror filled with misery, death and nightmares. She would give up everything she has if she could spend a one more second with her brother.

Mob Wives: Recap 110 The Finale “Rumble On The Rooftop”

At Karen’s apartment David is on the phone and Karen tells him she finished the first chapter of her book. She says she gets along well with Renee now, they have put their issues behind them and reconnected, but her and Drita not so much. It’s about the book, Drita still feels it’s about bashing Lee, but Karen gave her the first chapter as a way of trying to reassure her and show her that she doesn’t have anything to worry about. Karen tells Dave she really wants her daughter in New York with her and asks Dave if he would move back to NY. He says if it was the best thing for his child he would move back. Karen believes he is trying to be a good dad. He tells Karen to focus on what she came there to do, take care of business and not worry about the haters. They seem to have a good relationship.

Renee is seeing her therapist, Kelly, and she tells her she is happy. She has decided to remove Junior completely out of her life and she is putting herself first from now on. She feels by letting Junior go, it’s empowering her. She has been listening more and sees how the other women are making changes in their lives and she realizes that is what she needs to do. So she getting focused, on point and centered, and moving on with her life.

Carla talks to Joe on the phone, he is at the halfway house, but he stays with friends on the weekend and the kids stayed with him. She is concerned about Joe adjusting, but she is happy he is out.

At Drita’s house, her friend Nicole comes to visit to catch up. Drita is stressed out over Karen’s book, but she never read it or talked to Karen about it. Drita keeps saying that Lee is going to be in the book and Karen has disrespected her house and her family, so she doesn’t trust Karen or her book. Drita tells Nicole that Karen’s timeline is all wrong. Karen says Drita got together with Lee during the first year that Karen broke up with him. Drita says she got together with Lee two years later and that she and Karen weren’t even friends at the time; she and Karen hadn’t talked in over a year. Drita says Karen even F’ed Drita’s boyfriend while she was with Lee. Drita is aggravated about everything Karen says because none of it’s true. Nicole tells her to confront Karen in front of Carla.

Renee and Karen get together and talk about the first chapter of Karen’s book. Karen tells her she gave Drita a copy of it and she never called back to talk to her about it. Karen did it as a way of extending an olive branch so that Drita would be comfortable about the book and their friendship. Renee doesn’t think she needed to give it to Drita at all. What does Karen care what Drita thinks? Drita is still complaining about the book? Either they are friends or they aren’t, says Renee. What’s going on? Renee jokes that Karen and Drita need to go into the woods for a long weekend and see who comes out!

Drita’s calls Carla on the phone. Drita needs to see Carla right away, she is very upset. Carla says she can meet her in 20 minutes for a drink. Drita and Carla meet and Drita says she found out something about Lee that she never knew. She went to a hair salon with Aleeya, and a lady in the back calls out to Aleeya by name telling her she can watch television while Drita gets her hair done. This woman knows Aleeya’s name yet Drita has never taken her there. So Drita has a bad feeling and calls the owner of the salon to ask about this woman. The owner told her she used to date a guy a couple of years ago who had a tribal tattoo and he came in with a baby. Drita knows it had to have been Lee and he was cheating on her with this woman from the salon. She has been waiting for him all this time, because he was good to her, and now she finds out he was cheating on her the two years he was home. She is very angry and says he is lucky he is in jail right now so she can’t get to him. All this time she has been waiting and he was cheating on her. Carla sympathizes with Drita, she was cheated on too by Joe, and she knows how it feels. Drita doesn’t want to talk to Lee. She may have wanted a reason to leave him, but not this reason.

Drita is stressed over this Lee secret. She goes to see a lawyer. He tells her he can get her out of this situation if that is what she wants. He has been in jail for so much of the time it’s called “Irretrievable Breakdown” and she has good grounds for divorce. Lee has no idea she is seeing a lawyer. A divorce would not bother Giselle because she doesn’t even know her father, but it would hurt Aleeya, she adores her father. Drita has to think about it. The lawyer says he will take care of everything when she is ready.

Carla is at home talking to a friend and she tells her Joe is in the halfway house. But what concerns her is what he said. If he doesn’t get his own place soon he is going to be on her doorstep. Carla is concerned she will have no privacy and it’s not good for the kids to have him come home only to move out again. Plus his dirty laundry will be all over the place. She doesn’t like the idea.

At Drita’s house, she is walking around upset and stressed and she decides she wants to let everyone know that she did not betray Karen. She calls Renee to invite her to the meeting and the other two women as well. Renee is looking forward to the conversation because she thinks it’ll be a showdown between Karen and Drita.

The all meet at the Rare View Restaurant for dinner. Three women arrive first, Drita gets there a little later. That leaves the three of them guessing what this meeting is all about. They are laughing and Karen even jokes, maybe it’s a dinner to celebrate her first chapter, maybe Drita liked it? Drita walks in and kisses everyone hello and tells them they all look pretty. She says she needs Carla and Renee there because if she confronts Karen alone then they will all be calling each other and talking about it behind their backs. This way it’s all out in the open. Renee can see how stressed out Drita is and she is glad she has a front row seat.

Drita tells Karen that she is fed up with the talk of how she betrayed her with Lee. Drita tells her that her timeline is off. Karen is stunned, she thought this issue was already resolved and over with and now it’s coming back up again.

Drita wants to tell her side. She says that when she hooked up with Lee it was not the same year that Karen broke up with him, it was two years later. She says Karen and Lee broke up in 1997 and she got together with him in 1999. Drita says she did not talk to Karen for a year before she got together with Lee, so in her opinion they were no longer friends.

Karen says she was cheating on Lee with other men for a long time while she was still living with him. They hadn’t officially broken up till 1998...Oh brother! Great excuse.

They get back into the timeline again and I can hardly follow along. But, Karen says it’s not about the timeline anyway. She asks Drita, “Did we have a fight?” over and over till Drita says no…so in Karen’s mind it means they were still friends, talking or no talking. She says they only stopped talking because Karen moved to Arizona, not because they stopped being friends. Drita feels Karen shouldn’t care about Lee, and who was or wasn’t with him, because she cheated on him so many times. Karen insists it’s not about a timeline it’s about the friendship! Drita says she was not Karen’s friend when she got together with Lee, they didn’t talk, they weren’t friends.

The Drita yells at Karen, “You F’ed my boyfriend when you were with Lee!” Karen says she did not, they just made out. Karen adds, “And you ratted me out!”

Big Fight! Karen stands up and Drita blacks out and goes crazy. She lunges at Karen. Renee winds up on the floor with her legs in the air. Drita is pulling Karen’s hair. Drita is in attack mode. Security enters to pull them apart. They want to kill each other as they are cursing each other out……fade out! The season ends with a BIG BANG!

Renee is the one who gets hurt in the fight!  Here is a picture of her bruised leg that she tweeted yesterday, OUCH!:

Well, the finale was worth waiting for! Lee’s secret was unexpected and the way Drita found out was devastating. I was waiting for her to drive up to his prison and pay him a little visit. But, I was happy she consulted a lawyer and is looking into her options. What a slap in the face to wait all this time for a cheater! I feel sorry for Drita, she wasted the best years of her life on this man and on top of that, she chose to leave a career in professional soccer for him. Thank God she is still young and can start over, but it must have felt like a kick in the gut.

Carla is concerned about Joe messing up her routine and her neat house. I knew it. I said so last week. He is going to cramp her style. Oh well, it should all be worked out by now, that happened weeks ago. We’ll see what season two brings.

Renee is moving in a positive direction. Once she let’s go of Junior she will be able to direct her energy in positive directions. She has a lot going on in her life. Besides AJ, she has the show, Jail mail Inc launching, her wardrobe styling, and she mentioned cook books too! All that should keep her mind off Junior. And, she just tweeted a picture of her and a handsome man at the Finale Party with subtle hints, but didn’t tell us who he was!

Now the whole Drita and Karen situation is has been blown so out of proportion it’s not even funny. Anyone can clearly understand what they are both saying, if they said it once they said it a million times. Karen: “It’s about friendship.” Drita: “It’s about me being with Lee.” Timeline? Karen was the one that kept mentioning the timeline over and over. Drita never used the word timeline till tonight. Now Karen says who cares about the timeline? Karen did emphasize that Drita got with Lee the same year she broke up with him and implied that the short time made it all the worse. That’s what I heard all season. Now she doesn’t care about the timeline. Well, they promised a BIG BANG and they delivered it! I can’t wait for next season already. Meanwhile we have the reunion to look forward to.

This is me in my Drita voice: “When are we getting a new show? I need to know!”
