The Mob Doctor: Turf War

Pew pew pew
It's the 7th episode of Mob Doctor which means we're over the hump!  But there's still 6 more episodes left.

Couldn't go two in a row without these horrible flashbacks, so we learn that when Grace was a kid, there was a desk drawer that was off limits.  But one day she decided to sneak into it and she found a loaded gun and started playing with it.

At home, Grace is treating her bullet wound.  She calls Nurse Ro, who says Grace has been out of work for 3 days in a row.  Grace asks Ro to bring her some medical supplies, and Ro says Grace needs to be resting, not treating her "off the book" patients.  Grace is still obsessively looking at the bullet and moving it from place to place, so surely it will become a plot point later on.  Maybe it will become a much larger plot point than we could even imagine, like these video poker machines, and the bullet will get mentioned in every forthcoming episode.

Moretti is trying to get his business back from Constantine.  He meets with Titus (alias Uncle Eddie, alias Professor Professorson), the guy from several episodes ago who started all this video poker machine mess.  Moretti wants his deal back but Titus said he already gave the deal to Constantine and no one wants Moretti back.

One of Constantine's guys, I want to say Gio, drops off 6 pizzas for Grace in case she gets hungry.  Grace tells Nate she can't fake the flu much longer.  Nate breaks down and apologizes for getting Grace involved with this mess.  It's times like these I wish I knew what exactly Nate had done to get Grace involved in this mess, and why is Grace involved in this mess? But then I quickly stop caring, and just look forward to the day when I don't have to think about it.

Moretti's guys break into Constantine's warehouse where he keeps the video poker machines.  PSYCH!!  That's just where he keeps the empty boxes.  Plot twist~  Constantine is a hoarder and he had plans for those boxes.  Just kidding, Constantine knew they were coming and set them up.  Everybody gets shot.  One of Constantine's guys even shoots into traffic, hitting an innocent bystander, Paige, in the head as she is driving by.

At this point I want to point out that the guy who shoots Paige has a recurring storyline in this episode about the fact that he took a woman out on a date and spent a lot of money on it.  It is brought up on two occasions.  Why?

Ro drops the stuff that Grace asked for off at her house, noticing the mafioso type standing guard by her porch. She sees Grace's gunshot wound and gives her a little talking to about it.  Then Ro gets a call about some gunshot patients so she goes to the hospital.  Grace says she's coming with her, and magically painkillers cure her limp.  Somehow she gets past the guard.  It's not addressed how.

At the hospital, they are treating Paige and Gio for wounds.  Paige was shot in the head and abdomen, and she starts seizing.

When Moretti finds out there were no gaming machines in the warehouse, he's all "Whaddya mean no gaming machines??"  He wants to know how Constantine could have seen them coming, and he suspects Franco.

So Grace calls Nate to check in on him since she knows what went down in the warehouse.  Then she talks to Paige's mother and tells her there is bleeding in Paige's brain, and there are two options: remove the damaged part of her brain which will leave her disabled, or give her medication, which, if it doesn't work, she'll die.  Her mother chooses the medication.

The cops come to investigate at the warehouse.  Constantine says he don't know nothin about no break in.  He's just a normal dude, trying to run a normal, run of the mill, *legitimate* video poker machine business, just like anybody else.  The detective doesn't get anywhere with that, so he goes to visit Gio in the hospital, which Grace discovers.  Then Grace talks to Gio and Ro catches them.  By the way, am I sure his name isn't Gino?  No, I'm not.  So Ro wants to know what's going on with Grace, but of course, she doesn't have anything to say.

Brett runs into Grace and asks if she really had the flu.  Does he really need to ask?  She pulls out her tired "Nate is in some trouble" act.  Brett wants to know what's going on, but Grace gets a code on Paige and runs out.  Paige is brain dead, I guess, but Grace tries to revive her.  I don't know why I'm bothering to talk about this medical B-plot because, as always, it goes no where, so I'll just stop here with that.

Constantine walks into a diner where Moretti happens to be.  Constantine tells him to keep his hands on the table.  Constantine says he wants Franco, and Moretti says he wants everything north of Madison.  They go back and forth, until Constantine sticks a fork in Moretti's hand.  There must be a Constantine flash mob in the diner because no one bats an eye at this.

At this point, Franco and one of Moretti's other guys get into a fantastic argument about whether or not the sandwich Franco is eating has provolone in it.  It lasts, I kid you not, like an entire minute.  If there was a Mob Doctor spin off called "Franco and this Other Guy Argue About Whether this Sandwich has Provolone in it Or Not," I would happily prefer to watch that show.

Brett and Dr. White check Gio's x-ray and find that the bullet they left in his leg went into his blood stream.  Take a guess at whether this actually matters by the end of the episode?  Spoiler alert: no.

So Brett and Grace talk, and he says he needs to know more of what's going on with her or else he can't keep doing this.  Honestly, I'd be surprised if Grace cares because they hardly spend any time together nor seem to have ANY chemistry.

Dr. White says maybe they can find out who shot Paige when they send the bullet inside her to the crime lab.  The bullet currently inside her is from Constantine's doofus who splurges on dates.  Grace, with Ro's help, swaps that one out for the bullet she's been saving in her underwear drawer.  The cops then arrest Moretti for Paige's murder because the bullet came from his gun.  I am SUPER SURE they didn't find any of Grace's fingerprints on there, because why would they?

Grace tells Constantine she wants him to take care of Paige's mom now, and Constantine says fine, and also, Grace is a real natural.

In the flashback, Grace discovers that the gun, which she assumed belonged to her father, actually belonged to her mother.

And in a shocking twist, Franco is revealed to be an undercover police officer. He wants to go in deeper, but the detective says now that Moretti is in jail, his assignment is over.

UGH.  This show is exhaustingly dull, even when it isn't so bad.  I just don't understand anything about it.  Glad to be over the hump!  What did you guys think?

Big Ang: Anthony Busted On Drug Charges

Big Ang at Anthony's Pizzeria
Anthony Cracciolo, Big Ang cast member

The Staten Island Advance is reporting that a government cooperator has allegedly informed Federal agents that Anthony was allegedly involved in two cocaine deals earlier this year. He is currently out on bail of $100,000. The cooperating witness was said to be wearing a wire and the evidence of the alleged crimes, if true, seems to be quite incriminating. If convicted he is facing up to 20 years in prison. The full article, gives many details of this investigation, including Anthony's criminal past, and is linked below.

Anthony recently had a grand opening in Staten Island for his new eatery, Pizza Pasta Perfect, a pizzeria located on Hylan Boulevard. Many of the cast members of Big Ang and Mob Wives were out to support his business venture.

CANCER IS REALITY FUNDRAISER

Mob Wives in limo going to the event!

Last Thursday night a fundraiser was held to raise money for cancer. We can all relate to this disease. It’s great that so many of us have made a difference by partaking in breast cancer walks raising money for new technology and research. This particular fundraiser will benefit  people who can not  afford to get a mammogram on their own. Free mobile units will be set up for free mammograms. The biggest way to beat breast cancer is awareness and early mammogram's are the key.

Chip, Paulie (La Grande Cigars), Frankie

The event, which took place on the Arthur Avenue Market in the Bronx, looked to be quite a success. Set up in the middle of the market is La Casa Grande cigars, one of the hosts for the event, and they had  skilled professional cigar rollers on site.  The event featured some speeches, raffles and live music by Gfella, an Italian hip-hop artist.  Arriving early, I met Nora from Chicago Mob Wives, who was looking very nostalgic  in her outfit, and she seemed pretty busy helping out.

Big Ang and Gigi

Sheila and Pete Giudice

Pia looked stunning!

Frank Russo was looking HOT!

Arthur Avenue is known as the neighborhood setting that the Mama's Boys from the Bronx are from. Three of the boys were there from the show. Giovanni, the cannoli king; Chip, who's gym Krunch Time Fitness hosted and was he looking VERY handsome; and Frankie, who is always sweet.  Gigi from Jerseylicious, Sheila and Pete Giudice, brother and sister-in law of Teresa from RHONJ, were also there for support. The very charming Frank Russo, from Big Ang, also came by.  Mob Wives Big Ang, Carla, Leah and Pia all arrived together making a grand entrance. Big Ang came adorned in a lovely white big fluffy fur coat. Pia looked stunning in a little red dress. Carla, whose body is nearly perfect, sported a black studded dress, and Leah DeSimone, who wore pink. As soon as Big Ang hit the pink carpet camera flashes went off from every direction.

Mob Wives got up to speak

Nora Schweihs

Each of the girls were called up to speak about cancer and mentioned someone they know who has been affected by the disease. They all thanked everyone for their support and were happy to be a part of the event. Big Ang & Carla had some fun behind the cannoli counter and the girls mingled with the guests and were open for picture taking with fans.

Cannoli fun!

A few times I strolled across the street for some fine wine and I guess Nora did the same. Laughing it up with the guys at the bar, she seemed to be having fun and we all had a few laughs.

It's always great to see the Mob Wives taking time out of their busy schedules to help a good cause. Cheers to everyone who showed up and supported the cancer event.

American Horror Story: Asylum- I Am Anne Frank Part 2

What??  AHS was picked up for a third season???
I'm sure by now, you've all heard the terrifying news, that American Horror Story was picked up for a third "MINI-SERIES."  I don't know what Ryan Murphy will write about, since he's pretty much burning through every plot point in this season, but... We'll see.

For the second week in a row... no Levine.  The episode starts with Sister Jude visiting a man named Mr. Goodman.  He was in a concentration camp, and now he's a nazi hunter.  She tells him about Arden/Grouper, and he says he will look into it.  He asks if she has ever seen Arden shirtless, as SS doctors have their blood type tattooed on their upper arm.

After getting shot by Anne Frank, Arden stumbles into Sister Mary Eunice's office.  Anne is holding a gun to his head and asks for Sister Jude.  Frank, the security guard tells her to drop her gun.

Next thing Anne knows, she's waking up in a straight jacket with Sister Jude by her side.  Jude tells her that she was sedated.  Anne tells Jude she saw something in Arden's office without legs.  Jude says they checked his office and they found nothing of the sort.

Sister Mary Eunice interrupts them and says that Anne's husband is there to see Jude.  Jude speaks to the man who shows her a picture of himself, his wife, and their baby.  He says her name is Charlotte and their baby has colic.  Charlotte has become obsessed with Anne Frank, doing research, and even giving herself the number tattoo.  Sister Jude doesn't like the sound of this now, because she has a nazi hunter going after Arden.  Dr. Thredson creeps by and says "Oh that sounds like Postpartum Depression." Sister Jude is like, no one asked you, Dr. Butt-in-ski.  Charlotte's husband tries to take her home, but she denies knowing him at first.  Eventually she relents and they leave.

Dr. Thredson speaks to Jude about her barbaric threat to sterilize Kit and Grace, but Sister Jude says it wasn't a threat.  Thredson says she isn't a doctor so she can't do that.

Sister Mary Eunice visits Grace and Kit in solitary confinement.  She releases Kit, saying that Sister Jude decided he doesn't need the operation.  Grace assumes she's off the hook as well, but Sister Mary Eunice says she'll still be sterilized.  Grace tosses and turns all night, and then a bright light shines in her cell and something enters her room.

Dr. Thredson meets Lana and says they are leaving right after dinner.  He then walks to his office and meets with Kit.  Kit asks him to save Grace from being sterilized, but Thredson says that Kit is his patient, so he'll need to work with him first, and then he'll see what he can do for Grace.  His idea is to record Kit confessing to the murders, and that will help because.... because... um?  I thought Thredson was going to say that Kit was crazy so he doesn't get the electric chair, so why does he need to confess?

Anyway, Grace is with the aliens.  Alma is there, and she is pregnant, and by the incision the aliens make in Grace's belly, I'm guessing they impregnate her too.

Sister Jude makes a call to try to inform Mr. Goodman that she gave him the wrong information.  Dr. Arden overhears and asks her what she found in his lab, but she says there was nothing there.  Dr. Arden informs her he is going to press charges against her for allowing Charlotte to shoot her and then let her go home without consequence.  He's calling Father Timothy to demand her dismissal.

Sister Mary Eunice walks in on Arden as he is tending to his wound and she offers to help him.  He thanks her for getting taking Shelley to the woods to protect him.  However, it appears that Sister Mary Eunice didn't take Shelley to the woods, she took her to a playground so she could scare little children.  I'd post a picture buuuut, I don't want to.

Charlotte/Anne is back, as fast as she left. Her husband is afraid to leave her alone with the baby when he goes to work because one time he turned his back and she tried to smother it.  So that's a pretty good reason right there.  He wants Dr. Thredson to help her.  But, Dr. Thredson had just slipped out managing to bring Lana with him.  Sister Jude asks Frank to find him.

Charlotte's husband runs into Arden who tells him there is a more humane way to deal with Charlotte.  And with that, he gives her a lobotomy, with her husband watching... which seems kind of wrong, but ok.  With all the crazy things that happen on this show, that's the least of my concerns.

Frank catches up with Thredson and says Jude wants to see him.  Thredson says "I don't work here anymore, Frank.  As a matter of fact, I never did.  You can tell her I said that."  OH.  SNAP.

Frank goes back to Jude and tells her they can't find Lana anywhere.  He's sure she isn't on the grounds.  Jude knows she's done for, so she tells a story about a squirrel which apparently everyone on the internet is RAVING about but ok.  It's a story about a squirrel guys, chill out.  It was a dumb story.  No one should be winning an emmy over it.  So Sister Jude dolls herself up and leave Briarcliff and immediately gets her sin on.

Thredson brings Lana to his house.  He says she can't go home because that's where they will look for her.  She can't make calls because she will put herself and Thredson at risk.  No one can know where she is until they go to the police tomorrow.  Thredson thinks she is the person who can tell his story.  Lana is perplexed by what he means about "his story."  She's planning on exposing Briarcliff.  Then she notices his... nipple lamp?

YIKES.

Then, Thredson seductively offers her a mint from his skull bowl.

She decides to pass on the mint.  Her breath feels fresh enough.

She asks to use the restroom, which is down a hallway in which many of the doors are closed.  She wanders into a room which I can only imagine is his craft room, complete with a human ribcage on the wall.  He says he makes lampshades, and Lana asks what material he uses.  He says skin, and opens a trap door, which Lana falls through.

At Briarcliff, the detectives come to arrest Kit.  They got his confession tapes and Thredson's evaluation.  Grace is bleeding on her chair, and screams that Kit is innocent and Alma is alive.

In Thredon's lab, Lana is chained to the floor.  She sees Wendy, frozen.  Thredson says they are going to continue their therapy.  He wants Lana to kiss Wendy.

At the end of the episode, Charlotte is cleaning up her Auschwitz stuff and throwing it away.  Turns out, she isn't Anne, but her diligent study of her nazi pictures reveals that Arden was indeed they type of nazi who would stand right behind Hitler.

WOOF.  What an episode.  It isn't the worst one yet, but it did give us another glimpse into these dang aliens.  I mean, is Alma dead or not?  Did Thredson kill her or what?  I feel like we're going to have A LOT of loose ends at the end of this season.

Meanwhile, the internets are aflutter saying that the 2012 Bloody Face has blue eyes and Thredson has brown eyes, so what's the deal??

I can't believe I didn't see this Thredson as Bloody Face coming that second they showed that scene where he was popping up, overhearing every conversation.  Dude's got a light foot!  Dr. Butt-in-ski indeed.

What did you guys think of the twists and turns of this episode?  I have a feeling that this episode will be the equivalent of the one last season where we find out Violet died.  AKA, the rest of the season will be dreadful after this.

The Big Ang vs Janine Meatball War!

Let the games begin!

A few weeks ago I was happy to find out that I was selected to attend the meatball war between Big Ang and her sister, Janine. I guess there was so much talk about it that VH1 decided to actually air it. It ended up being a great idea because Aidell’s Meat Co donated $5000.00 toward Tunnels to Towers for Hurricane Sandy relief. So it looks as fun was had by all and it was for a great cause.

Carrie and the judges

The sisters showed up at Guy's American Kitchen in NYC for the ball-off. Carrie Keegan, host of the Buzz, was there to cheer them on. In the kitchen we watch as Big Ang and Janine mix up almost similar ingredients to their meatball mix. I can understand this because my siblings and I make the same base meatball recipe too, and someone always claims theirs is better than the others. The girls get their hands dirty and Big Ang claims its hard work! Carrie comes to her rescue with a drink. There's some Italian music playing in the background to set the mood. Carrie asks Janine how the Meatball contest came about. Janine says that she invited some friends over and Big Ang says, “ Okay, I’ll come over and cook. Lil Sis says she doesn't need Big Ang to help her cook, and then Big Ang tells her that her meatballs are better than hers. So that was the start of the ball war.

Janine is not crazy about Big Ang's recipe

The balls are ready for judging

The girls joke back and forth as the balls hit the frying pan. One of the funniest parts is when Janine takes a bite out of Big Ang's meatball and spits it out! Ha! They really can’t taste that different ! The girls plate up their balls and the judges come to do the ball tasting and judging. Seth Levine and Michael Ferraro, two foodies, give the balls a taste.

The Winner!

They discuss their decision and the winner is....Janine! She's happy and gives Big Ang a big hug.  I guess Big Ang has a big hand cause she may have lost due to the extra toss of garlic in her mix. Thanks to Big Ang and Janine for taking something fun & turning it into helping people. Great job girls !

Prize winning check for Sandy relief fund!

The Mob Doctor: Complications

This is only the sixth episode??  GASP
It feels like just yesterday I was dreading a new episode of The Mob Doctor.  Oh, that was yesterday.

Well, last night's episode started with NO FLASHBACK and NO DUMB VOICEOVER.  Could I really be so lucky as to have a Levine-less American Horror Story episode back to back with a flashback-less Mob Doctor?

Grace is walking out to the parking lot, and Franco is standing there.  She says she is too tired to help him, and whoever he has should just go to the ER like a normal person.  Franco apologizes, and Moretti pops out and kidnaps her.

We flash back to six hours earlier.  This flashback doesn't offend me (as much).  The doctors are preparing for some presentations they are doing.  A swimmer named Casey comes in, she was hit by a speedboat.

Constantine is working on coercing a politician named Spence to change his vote on the gambling ordinance.  He only needs one more vote to pass it.

Grace goes into the waiting room, and the guy who hit Casey with the speedboat is waiting there for her.  He is pretty upset by what happened, but if he's looking for a shoulder to cry on, it won't be Grace's.  Maybe she can give him some morphine to stop the tears, I don't think she'd have a problem with that.

Moretti, meanwhile, is determined to get Constantine today.  I can tell because he says today like 10 times.  Franco is all like, to be clear, you mean kill him, right?  Well Moretti thinks that's pretty darn suspicious.  If there's one thing the mob hates, it's being clear.  And if there's one thing they love, it's video poker machines.

Casey wakes up from surgery.  She says she has no recollection of swimming, and in fact, she HATES swimming, almost as much as Moretti hates being clear.

Constantine got Spence to change his vote on the gambling ordinance, so everybody is celebrating and gets an extra thousand dollars for the week.

Now we're back to the beginning.  Moretti dumps Grace in the trunk.  She's surprised to see Moretti alive, on account of having seen him get killed and all.    Moretti thinks that Grace set him up, and now he wants her to get Constantine to come out to meet him, so he can "get" him.  Not sure what he meant by that, he wasn't very clear.

Casey insists that she doesn't swim, and the guy who hit her with the speedboat insists he is taking care of her dog.  I feel like I'm not spending enough time with the patients to actually care if they live or die, but oh well.

Grace calls Constantine and lies saying she can't keep treating patients in alleyways and pet stores.  She needs a facility and some supplies.  She knows a guy who's selling stolen stuff for $20,000.  Constantine says ok, I'll send someone with the money.  But Grace is like, no, it has to be you, but doesn't really give him a good reason, so yeah, he's suspicious.

Brett asks Ro what she knows about Franco when Casey starts coding. Brett has to intubate her, but he struggles with it.  He's not a pro like Dr. Robert Chase: Intubator Extraordinaire.

Grace starts talking to Franco.  She tries to call Constantine to let him overhear their conversation but she has no service.  Franco catches her, and does nothing?

When Casey is intubated, Dr. White finds worms in her lungs.  Gross.

Olivia and Brett present their case from last week with the two boys.  Oh maybe they'll wrap up that storyline and tell us which of the parents had that genetic disorder called DYSTONIA, thank you very much.  Oh they're not going to mention that?  Ok.  Brett realizes Grace is set to present next and she hasn't shown up yet.  He tries to stall to buy her some time, but he's just being redundant so they tell him to knock it off.  Grace misses her presentation which Dr. White finds UNACCEPTABLE.  If that's unacceptable, I wonder what word he would use to describe knocking a patient out so you can give them a heart transplant they didn't consent to, intentionally almost letting someone die from internal bleeding, or leaving work every 4 minutes to do something for the mob?

Grace and Franco are still talking.  He didn't learn his lesson from last time, and she clocks him in the head, and then escapes.  She tries to run but Moretti sees her.  He starts shooting at her and hits her in the leg.  Grace finds somewhere to hide, but Moretti's goons are in hot pursuit.  Even though she is bleeding uncontrollably, she manages to not leave a trail of blood, so they can't find her.  She's just that good.

She finds some pliers and sterilizes them with gasoline??  And she pulls the bullet out of her thigh.

Dr. White tells Casey she has tapeworms and she probably got them from her dog.  Her hand starts shaking so they get her a CT scan and find a cyst of tapeworm eggs in her brain.  Ew.

Moretti still can't find Grace, prompting him to say, "What is with this broad, she's like a freakin Houdini or somethin?"  Indeed.

Grace manages to call Constantine right as he pulls up to the lot, and warn him about Moretti.  Constantine pulls away in time and then gets Grace to the car.

Dr. White and Brett perform surgery on Casey to get the cyst out.  If it ruptures, Dr. White says she will die.  It's touch and go, but ultimately the get it out.  I guess Casey will be ok.  Who cares though?

Grace is back at home and is oddly sentimental about her bullet.  She wraps it in a scarf and puts it in a drawer.  Brett calls, because she has been missing for 8 hours, NBD.  She's like, oh I was with Nate, but Brett knows she's lying.  They need to talk but Constantine shows up at the door and she has to go.  Constantine came to tell her that Franco and Moretti drew blood and they started a war.

I think my feelings for this show can be summed up by the fact that my sister told me it got picked up for a full season as a prank and I almost cried.  I'm basically counting down to the 13th episode at this point, which feels like a long way off.

Is anyone else out there watching this show anymore??

"The Walking Dead: Say The Word" Episode Recap

The episode opens up in the town of Woodsbury, where the people of the community are celebrating with drinks, food, and good times together. Milton brings Andrea a cold drink, who finds the cold drink to be quite a treat she hasn’t enjoyed in awhile. Milton indulges to Andrea that the governor used the generator they have to turn on the freezer for ice.  Michonne is being her usual self and observing the community get-together from a distance, not exactly joining in on the festivities as her suspicions of Woodsbury continue to rise. Meanwhile, the governor is in his office listening to soft music and brushing a girl’s hair. He accidentally makes a cut into the girl’s head and the girl growls….only to find out it’s not a human girl but a walker girl. Trying to comfort the girl, the governor restrains her and puts a cover of her head. “Daddy still loves you,” he tells her while giving her a kiss on top of her head. He looks out the window and sees that Michonne is watching his every move.

Michonne following her intuition of Woodsbury...
Back at the prison, Rick is holding his newborn baby in his arms, but instead of celebrating, he is in a state of shock over the loss of his wife. Daryl waves his hand in Rick’s face, trying to get his attention. Hershel then demands to see the baby and so Carl grabs the baby and gives it to him; “good news is she’s healthy but she needs formula,” Hershel observed. Daryl takes charge and decides to go for a run when Maggie and Glenn agree to tag along. Daryl advises Beth to keep a look out for Carl and Rick. While that is happening, Rick takes a hatchet and storms into the prison. Daryl takes the bike and says he‘ll only take one person along with him. Maggie says she’ll go and even though Glenn objects at first, he reminds her to stay safe. Daryl and Maggie take off.  Inside the prison, Rick goes on a killing spree on the remaining walkers as revenge for the death of his wife.

Maggie and Daryl (who can rock a poncho like no other)

Back in Woodsbury, the Governor holds a speech and recalls about when they first arrived in Woodsbury with eating nothing but saltine crackers and spam. But he celebrates how far the people and town of Woodsbury have come to create something that people can call a home; “we raise a glass to us!” The town cheers on and applauds. The only one not present is Michonne, who sneaks in a room which turns out to be the governor’s room. She takes her katana that had been in the glass case since her arrival to Woodsbury. She observes a picture of his wife and child. She then sees a notebook and opens it. She comes across a list of names, with the last name being “Penny”. She then sees pages and pages of drawn out lines. She goes into a room where she hears a noise so she takes a knife to pick the door. But she stops when she hears the Governor, Merle and Milton walk in. Governor and Merle tell Milton to lighten up but Milton is concerned about the resources being used for the community’s festivities because he had been working on an experiment. Milton wants to postpone ‘tonight’. “How long do you need?” the Governor asks. “10 days” Milton responds. But the Governor objects and tells him to start the experiment in the morning. The men leave. Michonne snuck out the window and goes in the back part of the building. She finds locked up gates, shackles and bloodstains; but to top it off, she hears the snarling of walkers.  She finds that a small amount of walkers are locked in a cage, waiting for a sign of human flesh. She takes a tool she finds on the ground and breaks them out. She equips her katana where she slaughters them and finishes them off with a look of satisfaction on her face. A woman walks out, finds Michonne and drops a pail….

Say "cheese!"
Michonne is sitting in a room guarded by Merle when the governor walks in holding her katana. “Do you get off on that?” he asks her. “Poking around other people’s things?”  Michonne responds, “People with nothing to hide don’t feel the need to say so,” Michonne replies. The governor tells her that everyone has a secret or two under their belts. “Like Penny?” Michonne fires back. “You know I loved her….” The Governor responds. “Bet you say that about all the girls….” Michonne said. The governor claims to Michonne that she has the wrong idea about the Governor. He mentions that Michonne wants to leave but Andrea wants to stay. “I was about to give you your sword back because you fit in,” he tells her “we’ve enjoyed having you.” The governor suggests that he keeps her “little outburst” a secret and that he will have her join the research team and Merle would take care of her. Michonne immediately grabs her katana and points it straight to the governor’s neck. Michonne, not saying a word, backs up and leaves the room with her katana. Merle comes back in, wondering what happened. The governor chuckles: “she’s full of personality!” The governor asks for Andrea for the research team.

Back at the prison, Glenn is outside the prison gates and begins digging a grave. Axel and Oscar come up to him; “we got the walkers spread out…need help?” Axel asks. Glenn ignores him. ”Your friends are good folks,” Axel responds.  Oscar offers his condolences and mentions that Glenn is fortunate to have so many good people on his team. Hershel observes them conversing from a distance Glenn tells Oscar and Axel to get the shovels and to Oscar and Axel and to start digging. Glenn walks up to Hershel and asks about Rick. “He’s still inside,” Hershel replies. Glenn confesses that he wished they had killed all the prisoners outside when they had the chance. “Oscar and axel seem like good guys,” Hershel tells Glenn. They begin to talk about T-Dog; “He was a good guy. He was the best,” Hershel recalls “but if he hadn’t closed that gate…” “It could’ve been Maggie!” Glenn interrupts.

Michonne in her element
Back in Woodsbury, Andrea comes inside a room to the governor’s demand. The governor asks her about Michonne. “Why would you have captive biters?”  Andrea asks. The governor tells her what happened with Michonne and the sword. “She wouldn’t do that unless she felt threatened,” Andrea tells him.The governor is suggesting to get rid of Michonne because she makes people “uncomfortable”. Andrea goes into the room where Michonne is and tells her that they have to talk. Michonne commands that they have to go. Andrea is telling Michonne how safe and comfortable it is in Woodsbury and how they aren’t being forced to stay like prisoners. “You can’t leave unless they make you!” Michonne replies. “You’re not making sense!” Andrea tells her. Michonne says they need to leave but Andrea wants to give the place a try. Andrea said Michonne was sabotaging everything but MIchonne is fully convinced “this place is not what they say it is.”

In the prison, Glenn is inside looking for Rick.  He sees a hatchet at the wall…and he sees rick arming it. Glenn walks up slowly to Rick and tells him that everyone is worried about him and that he needs to come out. Rick slowly turns around and seems to be in a state of bewilderment. Glenn continues to attempt to reason with him. But Rick throws Glenn against the wall and continues back deep in the prison.

Outside in a rural area, a military truck backs up. Merle, the Governor, Milton and another man go into a rural area where there seems to be a large, shallow ditch. The truck that pulls up a net full of captured walkers, much to Merle and the other mens’ delight. “Don’t kill it yet!” Milton suggests “there’s something different in his eye…”  They lift down the walkers and capture them with rope around their neck attached to a pole that the men are holding. Merle pushes a walker down while Milton unhooks a tooth from a walker.

Daryl, along with Hershel, are taking the lead of the crew as they help keep the new addition to the crew alive
Maggie and Daryl go through a residential house and go through the backyard where there’s a playground. Maggie breaks a window and climbs through while Daryl looks outside. She notices two crib beds and colored children handprints on the wall. She sees she’s in a baby’s room and immediately opens up a drawer and grabs whatever baby items she can get. Daryl comes in and they sneak around to investigate the place. They go in a kitchen where they hear rattling. They open up a closet where the sound is coming from…….it’s a possum. Of course, Daryl shoots it and chimes in with “there’s dinner!” Maggies opens another cabinet and finds the perfect item: powdered baby formula.

Back in Woodsbury, the festivities continue. Merle catches Andrea and Michonne leaving  and asks why they are in a hurry. Merle, being the charming Southern gentleman he is, tells them “ya’ll are breaking my heart running away like that! It’s almost curfew, I have to arrange an escort.” Merle shrugs and tells them to wait a second while he talks to one of the guards.  Andrea walks over to Merle and tells him they are free to come and go. “Nothing personal but you’re going to have to step back,” Merle demands. “There’s always a reason why we can’t leave!” Michonne objects. Merle, seeing how much Michonne wants to leave, suggests they find shelter before nightfall. Merle opens the gate and allows them to go. “This was all for show,” Michonne remarks bitterly. “Close the gates!” Andrea demands. Andrea and Michonne have an arguing match. “We held our own for 8 months! I’m so tired and I don’t think I have it in me for another 8 months!” Andrea argues. “This place is a refuge and a place like this is what kept us going!” Michonne just flat out asks her if she’s coming or not.  Andrea begs her not to give her an ultimatum, shadowing the ultimatum Andrea was faced with back in the CDC with Dale. Michonne begins walking away, muttering “you just slow me down anyway….” Michonne begins walking away as Merle closes the gates on her. Andrea looks out and watches her disappear.

Andrea is sitting on a bench when the Governor joins her. “Sorry things didn’t work out with your friend,” The Governor tells her, “Weird to lose someone by their own choice. Thought those days were gone…” The governor then offers her a drink to help her feel a bit better. Andrea and the Governor walk away together.

Back at the prison, Daryl and Maggie are riding back when Oscar and Axel distract the walkers on one end so Maggie and Daryl can get back in safely. Oscar closes the gate once they enter. Back in C-Unit, Carl is holding his crying baby sister when Daryl and Maggie return. Carl gives the baby to Daryl. Daryl feeds the baby with its bottle of formula, rocking and soothing the baby. The baby calms down immediately (meanwhile, Jane’s is going into a major fit of “awwwwwwws” and exploding puffy hearts). “She have a name yet?” Daryl asks.  Carl was thinking of naming her Sophia. “But then there’s Carol and Andrea….Amy….Jackie…Tricia…..or Lori…I don’t know” Carl suggests, shrugging his shoulders and shook up as he remembers the women in the group that have been lost.  Daryl playfully calls the baby “lil ass kicker” and continues rocking the baby.

Within the prison, Rick goes in the room where he sees puddles of blood, brain matter, a knife….and one round. He’s in the room where Lori had her final moments of life. He finds a trail of blood that leads to a walker with quite the full belly; Rick puts the barrel of his gun in the walker’s mouth and blows it’s brains out. He then slashes the walker’s stomach.

Merle showing off
Back at nighttime in Woodsbury, there’s a big bonfire with loud rock music playing in the background. Andrea and the governor sit up on bleachers with the rest of Woodsbury. The crowd is roaring and cheering (save for Milton, who seems less-than-thrilled). Spotlights come on and walkers are in the center of it all, chained up as Merle and two other gentlemen antagonize them as the crowd chants what at first sounds like “mur-der, mur-der” as Merle shows off with a one-hand pushup. Andrea is stunned at what’s she is seeing. It turns out to be a brawling, UFC-style match but instead of an octagon, the fighters are surrounding by chained up walkers yearning for human flesh.  The fighter hits Merle and leads him to the walker. Merle kicks the walker with both feet. The more the men fight, the closer the walkers become to the fighter. At this point, Andrea is sickened at what she is seeing and asks the Governor what this is all. He says that this is the way for the people of Woodsbury to “blow off steam”. “You go for a jog to blow off steam!” Andrea angrily says. “This is sick!” The governor confesses to her its staged and its all for show for the crowd. “This is your reason for keeping walkers around?” Andrea demands. The governor still is convincing her it’s all staged. “You’re teaching them that walkers aren’t dangerous!” Andrea argues. “We’re teaching them not to be afraid,” the Governor responds.

Back outside the prison, Daryl walks over to three wooden crosses. He pulls out a beautiful white flower and places it on the cross marked for Carol. He touches the cross before walking away…Back inside the prison, Rick Is propped up against a wall, dazed, as the sounds of a baby’s cries and an alarm clock fill his head. But a telephone in the room ringing wakes him out of his daze. He slowly walks up to the phone and picks it up. “Hello?” he asks…..

Jane Note’s: Before I begin, let me make note of a few things. AMC did an awesome interview with Michael Rooker (Merle Dixon) about playing Merle, a little history behind his prosthetic hand and the infamous fight scene with the walkers.

Also, for those of you who have a Facebook because everyone does (except for my parents, my dad is technologically challenged and still listens to cassette tapes while my mom just doesn't understand it), check out "The Walking Dead" Facebook game. I played it this week and it's actually pretty fun! I know a game is fun because I when t at the kitchen table with the laptop because I'll either 1. slam my hand 2. yell back at the computer or 3. mutter to myself strategies and my folks will wonder what the heck I'm up to.

I was also watching David Letterman earlier tonight when Letterman talked very briefly about "The Walking Dead" and talked about how this last episode left viewers in suspense;

Now time for some personal commentary! I was so anxious for this episode after last week's fiasco of an episode. It was interesting how fans felt (according to a poll taken by AMC) that Rick should go on a walker killing spree...the fans know the characters well! I didn't expect too much of Rick except blowing off steam...but what happens next? Whose the mystery person calling him? I had a flashback to Season 1....when Rick was ready to give up all hope, he got a call in from Glenn and he saved Rick....which made Glenn a valuable member of the crew. Will the same thing occur now that Rick has once again suffered a loss and this mystery person will help keep him going? We shall see......

As for Michonne, I'm glad homegirl branched out on her own. I'm starting to LOVE Michonne more and more each episode. Growing up, I always idolized femme fatales and Michonne fits under that category of a woman that can kick ass and take names. But what's next for Michonne? Will she mysteriously disappear the way she mysteriously appeared? Time will tell. In the meantime, I think over time, Andrea will regret staying behind Woodsbury....speaking of Woodsbury, what is up with the Governor?!? I don't know what to make of him. There's the scene with the heads-in-aquarium, shooting out a whole military squad and using walkers for entertainment. I can't fault him for keeping his walker daughter since Hershel kept a whole farmhouse full of his family members. But is he just a complete sociopath or is he just lost and unsure what to make of the whole apocalypse? Who knows.....

Oh and that fight scene with the walkers? I have to admit, it was pretty damn badass! Michael Rooker, the stunt actors and the production team did a fantastic job capturing the scene. I enjoyed it!

As for Carol...My personal prediction is that she is alive and is somewhere hidden within the prison, which is still full of walkers. I don't think she got killed off.

Last but not least....the hardcore, badass Daryl showing his soft, protective side...I can go on and on but I'm going to post a picture my friend Johnny sent me on Facebook that sums it up;

My friends know me too well....

Jokes aside, the more I watch this show, the more I'm so into it so I'm very grateful to recapping such a fantastic show! I may not be able to watch it immediately on the dot at 6/9PT on Sundays but I watch it as soon as I get home on Sunday night regardless and I'm on Twitter at the same time so don't forget to follow and catch some more of my twitter shenanigans and commentary!
