Mob Wives: The Anticlimactic Season 5 Finale

The evidence we have been waiting for!
It's at her finger tips!

As I sit here waiting for the Reunion shows to air, I can’t help thinking about the finale episode, “The Final Face-Off,” and how it didn’t deliver on it’s promise. It was like that fourth of July firecracker that we used to call “duds,” because you’d light it and wait and wait and wait, but it never exploded.

The season started out with Karen and Gnatalie continuing their twitter battle on the show. The teams were drawn: Karen and Renee against Gnatalie and Ang and Drita defending her. Then along comes Natalie D. Big coincidence she is a model at a photo shoot Drita is doing. Bigger coincidence she is from South Philly AND has the dirt on Gnatalie. The next few episodes all we hear about is all the proof Nat D has on Gnat and Drita flip-flopping back and forth, not knowing who to believe. Finally, Nat D brings the proof, but only Drita gets to hear it, and evidently it’s convincing enough for her to turn on Gnatalie. We never get to hear the tape in episode 11, so I am thinking maybe they are saving it for episode 12. Episode 12 is titled “The Final Face-Off,” and the two Natalies have never actually been on camera together. Renee plans a Baptismal celebration party for episode 12 too. We all know what happens at Mob Wives’ parties . . . Confrontations and fights . . .  and no cake. So we wait. Everyone shows up. And we wait. Natalie D says she has the tape and intends to play it. And we wait. Nat D takes out her phone. We wait at the edge of our seats. She puts it away for “later.” But, there is still plenty of time. Nat D has promised, time and time again, to expose Gnatalie for the “rat” she is.

The "uninvited" guests

Then Drita notices something from across the room. Gnatalie is talking to a group of “strangers” at a nearby table. Drita doesn’t know these people so they must be up to no good. They are eyeing Natalie D. Drita, who doesn’t believe in ratting people out, runs to Renee to set her wise about the interlopers. Renee promptly calls security to have them evicted. But how did so many uninvited guests get into a party that is private and being filmed? A party that would require releases being signed by everyone there allowing their image to be shown on the show? Someone would have had to approve that for it to happen. But, in any case, the group is escorted out along with Gnat and London. The tape is never played. There is NO Final Face-Off. In fact, there is no face-off at all! Maybe a few death stares from across the room. There is no fight . . . no explosion. Nat D runs out after them making a half-hearted attempted to follow the entourage with her phone, but again nothing happens. Just like the firecracker that’s a “dud,” there is no “BOOM!”  . . . just silence . . . as Gnat and her family and friends leave the scene and the episode ends with a fizzle, not a sizzle.

"You can run, but you can't hide!"
as Gnatalie scurries away once again.

I can only hope that the two part Reunion Show, airing March 11th and 18th will tie up some of these loose ends and answer some questions. And, if they don’t play the tape, at least explain why they didn’t.

I agree there does need to be an explanation as I do not think they will play the tape. Episode was lame as shit for sure haha I fell asleep!!! Hope the reunion is better. I can't even believe the weak ass shit they come up with for story lines. I also notice in every reality show that has seasons, there is always some 'word(s)' that are used ALL SEASON LONG. Rat and cop caller way over used..... and really in the grand scheme of things, they all talk shit about 'rats' but they are also real quick to run off to one another telling them what the other said. There is really no loyalty amongst any of them really. I say be loyal you YOURSELF first by doing what YOU think is right and not hating on other people just because someone says too haha I march to beat of my own drum and everyone else can SUCK IT as far as I'm concerned. When you run your mouth your an intentional fucking shit starter. Of course they wouldn't have a job and we would not be getting dumber by watching each episode if they were not like that. Thanks for all the recaps and additional stories! Always entertaining awesomeness for sure

Well on a positive note on this weak ass season Natalie D. Boyfriend is fine as Hell, unlike London. Just thought I would throw that out there.

There have been various recordings of Gnat floating around since last year. In fact, didn't Karen's baby daddy have one of her being racist, besides other ones? Stick a fork in her, she is done! Finally. She ran her mouth like no other, well kind of like Drita LOL and look where it got her. Running again. She claims she will even beat a man's ass, then claims Domestic Violence. She has gunned for Karen before ever even knowing her in person and guess what? Ran! So I'm not shocked she pulled this crap at finale, and RAN. Now she is claiming set up and everything else. Why was she worried of getting jumped? No one ever jumped her. She was friends with most of the ladies on the cast I thought? She claims to have beat up KG, but didn't , and screamed she would do whatever to Nat D , and didn't. BYE GIRL

Sorry I forgot . I too wondered about the guest getting in and having a table ready. Maybe production thought that would be part of the sizzle that fizzled ? Luckily it was handled to avoid anything violent escalating? Crazy how tv behind the scenes works.

To anonymous two comments up from me:
Karen's baby daddy had a tape of CARLA using the "n" word, referring to a Black guy.
Do you remember when Renee, Ramona, and Karen were saying Carla was a racist, the last season Carla was on the show?
Well that's what that tape was about.

As far as we know David Seabrook did not say anything about Carla or have a tape. Tapes seem to be a Philly thing. What we have on our blog are his tweets talking about Drita.

Karen Ramon, and Renee all were accusing Carla of being a racist, because they said she called some Black guy the "n" word. Carla did not deny using the word, she just tried to justify it. I remember this is when I stopped liking Carla.

As far as the tape Karen's baby daddy had(and he did have a tape,I remember him and the others talking about the tape) I thought is was when Carla used the "n" word. But it could have been someone else on the tape.

Thanks Anon #3 I didnt even pick up the fact that Nat G said she wanted to beat up Storm but then next episode said she was in a Domestic Violence relationship and had to call the cops on the guy... Very Interesting.. But too bad it doesnt matter to any of them now..

This was so anti-climatic that I didn't even realize it was the finale! What a letdown.

I think we can all agree that mobwives started to fizzle out season 4 and 5.
The first three seasons had originals and history with all the girls as soon as they brought Philly girls Alicia and the two Natalie's they lost its authenticity.
I think it's only cause the first three seasons were good it kept rolling....

So chiara what new show will u guys be blogging once this is over?

Chiara Soprano said...

Leigh I'm glad you asked that question. MM and I touched on taking the blog in a new direction, one that she originally had in mind when she named the blog M.O.B. Wives. Maybe we will include more than just shows. We will have to kick it around a little more. You know we have something to say about everything lol

In my upper post, that should be Ramona, NOT Ramon.
