Mob Wives: Brittany, Flip-Flopping Or Flipping Off?

Brittany in true Mob Wife form!

We just got around to listening to Brittany Fogarty's interview with AfterBuzz TV Mob Wives Aftershow which took place after episode 4, "Flip-Floppers and Party Hoppers," aired.

After a little chit chat about the recent blizzard, her modeling, her boyfriend and some family talk they get around to the talking about the show. Brittany feels that the other mob wives don't respect what she has to say because she is the youngest at 25, and doesn't understand. She says that they can't wrap their heads around the fact that someone younger than they are can see through them. Brittany says, her mother, Andrea Giovino, always put her kids first. No matter how difficult life got, Brittany says her mother was a strong woman who never let them see how upset she was and she was more of an idol and inspiration to her growing up. Her father, John Fogarty, wasn't too happy with her joining the show. He didn't want her to be associated with the mob in any way. Her brothers think the show is funny and they laugh about it. Brittany says things were rough in her relationship with her dad, who got out of prison when she was 11. But they are working on their relationship. Her maternal grandmother ran illegal card games for wise guys in the basement her Brooklyn home. She had 10 kids and she would make them hang up their coats and serve them drinks. When Brittany's brother was four, her grandmother bought him a pocketknife for Christmas and taught him how to use it. At 18 months Brittany's family relocated to Bucks County, Pennsylvania. They often went back to Staten Island to visit family and spend time there. She says she misses LA where she has been living recently.

Now for the episode chat. "Flip-Floppers" in the title refers to Brittany. The interviewer says she understands Brittany's frustration with Marissa because Marissa is just looking for every excuse not to like Brittany. Every episode she takes shots at Brittany. Brittany says she is still trying to figure out why this girl is so concerned with what she is doing and who she is talking to and how much she is drinking. She feels Renee has brainwashed Marissa into not liking her from day one. And if she wants to call her a "lush" she really doesn't care, but it's the antagonist intention behind it and the way she kept saying it to provoke her. Why is she looking to start a problem with someone she doesn't know from a hole in the wall? Brittany and the interviewers feel that Brittany is Marissa's storyline. She says in every scene Marissa is taking about her like she has nothing else to talk about. I have to agree with Brittany on this point. This is exactly what I have seen in the first four episodes. The whole "lush" scene at the Hamptons seemed to irritate the other women and I felt like Marissa was really trying to provoke Brittany into a fight at the pool or at the very least, set the tone for future episodes.

As far as the "Flip-Flopper" thing goes, she thinks the women cannot handle the fact that she likes Drita, it's as simple as that. They ask her how can she explain the way she spoke about Drita in the Hamptons behind her back and then becoming friends with her.  She owns the fact she spoke about Drita behind her back and in looking back she was wrong to do that, she shouldn't have chimed in because she hadn't even met Drita yet. But, she was hanging around a bunch of women who did nothing but talk about her and bad mouth her for weeks so she chimed in. When she met Drita she found her to be a totally different person than the one they described. She liked her right off the bat. She doesn't feel she should have a grudge against Drita for the problems other people had with her. Brittany denies that Drita "took her under her wing." She says the other women talked badly about Drita to influence her, but Drita never spoke badly about any of them to sway her one way or another. If anyone was trying to manipulate her it would be all the other women who tried to convince her not to like Drita. As for Carla saying Drita took her under her wing, Brittany says Carla must be weak to have been manipulated for three years. Ouch! Maybe if Brittany had watched the previous seasons, and seen it with her own two eyes, she would understand where the other women are coming from. Drita has not been loyal and is not "friend" material. Sometimes, when you are young, you have to learn things the hard way. Like Carla said, give it enough time and Brittany will be the new "mothball," especially if she decides to move to LA and disappear. They soon may not be "friends like that any more."

Brittany says she watched the first season of Mob Wives when it aired four years ago. When she was asked to be on the show she made the decision not to go back and watch the other seasons so she wouldn't have preconceived ideas about all the women because those issues have nothing to do with her. She is going to meet them one on one and base her opinions on how they are with her. Now that filming has ended she is still friends with Drita and Ang. She says she enjoys the show.

They ask if she is close with Karen now. Brittany says, "No, oh no." Then adds they got into a twitter war last week.  She says she thinks it's because she formed a friendship with Drita in spite of their efforts to keep that from happening. The interviewers are shocked to hear about the twitter war because Brittany and Karen were getting along great, especially in episode four. Brittany says you have to see how her relationship with Karen plays out. They were friendly in the beginning, but these women are so black and white, it's either team Drita or team Karen and she doesn't see it like that. None of their issues had to do with her. But her friendship with Drita had a lot to do with hurting her relationship with Karen. She says they haven't filmed the Reunion Show yet, but they will be doing that next week. She is looking forward to it. As for how she got on the show, she went through the regular casting process and was hired by Jennifer Graziano, who she thanks. Fans think Karen brought her around and got her the job.

They go over the Twitter War tweets. Karen calls Brittany fake and her story about visiting her father in prison fake. Brittany says that's why people are delusional. Now that they aren't friends she wants to say her whole story is fake, but when they were friends she was saying how close their fathers were. She thinks sometimes people forget what they say. Brittany says it all started when Karen tweeted she had no loyalty because she was friendly towards Drita at the gym. But Drita never said anything bad about her except she had a tanning bed in her house. Brittany didn't think that was such a big deal because it's true Karen had a tanning bed. The interviewer says yes, but maybe Karen is pissed because Brittany started the conversation with Drita and kind of stirred the pot. Brittany agrees but says how can she address the elephant in the room when Drita knows all these women talked about her in the Hamptons? Is she supposed to go in and pretend she doesn't know anything? The fact remains that none of these other women's issues with Drita are her issues, so why should she have a chip on her shoulder when it comes to Drita?

It ends with one of Brittany's quotes: "Be strong, put your lipstick on and get the f*ck out there."

In my opinion Brittany did a great job handling all the questions and her answers came across as truthful from her point of view.

In next week's episode 5, "The SitDown" we are supposed to see how Karen gets dragged into the middle of Brittany and Marissa's issues. Stay Tuned!

Mob Wives: Karen & Brittany The Last Straw

Back in better days

Karen Gravano introduces Brittany to the rest of the cast in Season 6 Mob Wives, "The Last Stand." Karen knows Brittany because both of their fathers are friends and did time together. There is a family tie there. Karen also relates to Brittany because she was in her shoes twenty years ago. Both of their fathers cooperated and the girls were being judged for it. Karen seems to take Brittany under her wing and, while they were filming, we saw many pictures of them together hanging out and having a good time. Something changed all that and last night we saw what it was.

Brittany decides to befriend Drita. Despite her friendship with Karen and everything Karen and the others have told her, she decides to throw caution to the wind and hang out with Drita. She likes Drita even though she just met her and knows her for all of five seconds. She disrespects her friendship with Karen and shows she has no loyalty to her at all. Last night, after a whole season of filming, Karen and Brittany exchanged a few ugly tweets. Here, in the "Twitter After Show," is the nasty little twitter war for you to read.

First Brittany accuses Karen of not knowing Marissa

Karen sees just how loyal Brittany is

Karen decides to put the truth out there

Karen is in BLUE, Brittany is in GRAY

Brittany has a "mind of her own" and she made her choice loud and clear. Let's see how long this friendship with Drita lasts, maybe as long as season 6 . . . then Brittany may become the NEW "mothball" and they won't be friends "like that" any more.

Mob Wives: Season 6 Marissa Jade & Brittany Fogarty Fight?

Karen tweets about the filming at yesterday

I have been watching Twitter very carefully for any clues and hints about what season 6 is going to bring. Karen shared a little tweet or two which indicates things were not peaceful during yesterday's filming. Now we have pictures of some of the filming that allegedly took place at Latitudes on Forked River. And even more than that, a person claiming to be at the restaurant when the altercation took place, tweets that the fight was between the two new mob wives, Marissa Jade and Brittany Fogarty. Once again @MobWivesVH1News has located the tweet and posted it for fans.

"a huge fist fight?"

I guess things are getting wild during season 6 already and we still have to wait until December for it to premiere. There were no hints as to what provoked the fight, but we have seen it all before. Here are a couple of pictures taken during the filming yesterday. It's hard to see what is actually happening, but you can make out some of the girls.

Regarding the fight:

What did Marissa answer when a fan said her money was on Marissa?

"Money well spent $ $ $"

and what did Brittany have to say?

Something tells me this "fight" is not over!

P.S. High praise from Karen for Marissa and Brittany!

It looks like we are in for a very exciting season 6! Stay tuned for more news as it develops! Thanks to @MobWivesVH1News for staying on top of the action.

Mob Wives: Season 6 Who Gets Along?

Karen and Brittany have hit it off . . .

Mob Wives Season 6 will not premiere until December 2015, but we are already getting the "picture" of who is getting along and all smiles. Here are a few pictures from the cast's Twitter accounts that show a mix of Original Girls (old blood) and the New Additions (newer blood). What the hell can these storylines be?

Maybe because they are both Mob Daughters?

Brittany's mother, Andrea Giovino, seems totally supportive of her daughter's new role on Mob Wives. You may recall part of Andrea's story from "I Married A Mobster."  Andrea has quite a long history with the mob herself, as does Brittany's father, John Fogarty.

Once again, Renee, Karen and Marissa are hitting it off!

If Karen says we will be happy with the new girls I trust her!

Looks like Marissa and Carla are tight too!

I wonder if Marissa and Carla got together outside of filming to give their pups a play date? Looks like everyone is getting along . . . well, at least 5 of the Mob Wives are.

But is Karen hinting about some drama that Marissa isn't aware of yet?

Why wouldn't Marissa be happy? Something must be going down for Karen to say that, and Karen also posted a picture of herself with this tweet . . . I wonder what it means?

Karen looks pretty serious

Meanwhile, Renee hasn't been posting much about Season 6 and yet she managed to sum it all up in a nutshell. Last night she tweeted this before going to bed and telling us she had a day of filming today.

I wonder who "they" are???

And last but not least, both Brittany and Marissa post pictures of themselves with their boyfriends on their birthdays. I wonder if the guys will make an appearance on the show?

Two lucky guys!

P.S. I hope Drita has been continuing her boxing lessons because at least one person in this alliance appears to have a great left hook and she doesn't look like she is going to be afraid to use it!

Mob Wives: Season 6 Love Majewski in Guest Role?

The beautiful Love Majewski

Love was a main character in season three of Mob Wives. Ever since then, fans have been begging for her return. Love grew up with Ramona and Karen in Staten Island and has certainly lived the "lifestyle" through many of the men she has dated over the years. Back in season three, Love had a bone to pick with Carla and the whole season's storyline lead up to a confrontation. Whatever happened, on or off the set, Love was not invited to the Reunion Show that year and was not asked back for another season (Season 4 was a mess anyway with those Philly chicks). Now I am not one to give a lot of credibility to Wikipedia. I have no idea who updates their articles and if what they add is fact or wishful thinking. It's just impossible to know and when I try to verify information no one seems to be talking. So for now I will let you know what I know, when I know it. According to Wikipedia, Love is coming back as a guest in season 6. I am hopeful, but skeptical because Carla is on this season. However, it is always possible that Love will be filming with other Mob Wives at some point. Last time I blogged about Wikipedia's information Jenn Graziano said it was wrong, and yet she wouldn't "correct" the misinformation for me. So this news could be fact or fiction at this point.

I have also read that Gnat says she has been asked back for this season and have not been able to verify that. As you can see Wikipedia has her still in the main cast. What her role will be is beyond me. The two newest additions, Marrisa Jade and Brittany Fogarty, are young and beautiful and I look forward to seeing what they bring to the table. Brittany is a "mob daughter" whose parents have had serious mob ties. Both women were in the Hamptons this past weekend filming with Karen, Renee and Carla.

What do you make of these possible new developments?

Mob Wives: Brittany Fogarty Second New Addition?

Brittany Fogarty, the blonde between Karen and Marissa

Speculative SCOOP! I am tired of asking Jennifer Graziano for crumbs concerning season 6 of Mob Wives, so I went out and got myself a loaf of bread! A couple of days ago I got wind of a possible new addition to the cast, Marissa Jade, and have looked into her biography to fill everyone in. As you can see from the above photo, Marissa is in the Hamptons filming with the cast, so it's safe to speculate she will be in season 6. But, I noticed the tall, beautiful, blonde woman standing next to Marissa and wondered who is she and what is she doing there? After doing a little research, I believe she is Brittany Fogarty, daughter of Andrea Giovino, from I Married A Mobster. (Links to blogs on Andrea Giovino will be posted at the end of blog.) We have done several blogs on Ms. Giovino because of her husband, John Fogarty, and her own involvement with the mob. If this is Brittany Fogarty (and I believe it is), she is a legitimate "mob daughter." Here is a nice picture of mother and daughter . . .

Andrea Giovino and Brittany Fogarty

Besides being at the Hamptons for this fun filled weekend of filming, Brittany seems to be hanging out with "the" Mob Daughter of all mob daughters, Karen Gravano. Check this out:

A little drink between "mob daughters"

I think, based on these photos, there is something to this theory of mine. Brittany is also a model and what her role will be in Mob Wives, if she is indeed part of the cast, is beyond me. Here is an excerpt from an interesting interview that Brittany and her mother, Andrea Giovino, had with Joy Behar which aired August 2nd, 2011 on CNN. At the time Brittany was using her mother's last name and since then has gone back to using her father's.

*****

BEHAR: OK. Now Brittany, you were born into mob life, as well? Right? How old were you when your father went to jail?

BRITTANY GIOVINO, DAUGHTER OF MOBSTER JOHN FOGERTY: I was about eight months old when my father went to jail.

BEHAR: So you never really grew up with that, but your mother was a mobster at the time or not?

B. GIOVINO: Yes. Well, my father went to jail when I was eight months old, and then we moved and got relocated to Pennsylvania when she got arrested when I was about -- almost 2. So I mean, I was too young to know anything of -- I mean, I have no memory of any of that.

BEHAR: So is it shocking that your mother was a mobster?

B. GIOVINO: I wouldn`t say shocking, just because it was so openly talked about in our house. There was never like any secrets. I mean, we`ve always been so open with each other that I just kind of grew up hearing about all of it. So the stories were just always normal to me.

BEHAR: But your father is in witness protection now?

B. GIOVINO: Right.

A. GIOVINO: Yes.

BEHAR: So do you have any connection to your dad?

B. GIOVINO: He came back when I was about 11 years old to try and have a relationship with me and my brother. And we have somewhat of a relationship, but I think after like, from eight months old to 11 years old, I think that`s such a --

BEHAR: Crucial.

B. GIOVINO: Crucial stage to bond with your children, and he wasn`t there. And then it`s like 11 years old, he shows up on your doorstep, hi, I`m your dad. Well, I was like, what, you`re my dad? OK, hi, dad. But I think the years of just bonding were just --

BEHAR: Lost.

B. GIOVINO: Gone, yes.

end of excerpt. You can find the whole transcript at CNN

*****

So there you have it!  What do you make of this? Is Brittany Fogarty in the cast for season 6?  Until I see anything to the contrary I am leaning towards a big yes! Now my head is spinning with all the possibilities for storylines!

I Married A Mobster: The Joy Behar Interviews

Joy Behar Grills the Ladies

Last night, August 2nd, Linda Schiro with daughter Linda Scarpa, and Andrea Giovino with daughter, Brittany Fogarty, were on Joy Behar. Let me start by saying this was one hell of an interview! Joy never hesitates to ask what everyone wants to know. Here are all the details:

“Big” Linda tells how, at age 17, she met Greg Scarpa while growing up in Bensenhurst, Brooklyn, where the neighborhood was full of mobsters. Linda insists, when questioned, that everyone in her neighborhood was a mobster. Finally Joy and Linda agree, that not every household was in the mob, but a lot of them were. And Linda tells how her grandmother ran crap games in her basement, so she grew up around the mob. The first time she witnessed a hit was when Greg took her with him to meet someone, got out of their car and walked over to the car across the parking lot. He tells her he is getting some collector’s stamps, but what he does instead is whack the guy and then take the stamps. But Schiro wasn’t at all afraid that she was with a murderer at 17. It was like a normal thing and afterwards they went out to dinner. Joy is somewhat shocked that a young girl would take murder in stride…bookies and crap games yes, but murder is a stretch. But, it didn’t phase Linda. Then they discuss Greg’s “work” for the FBI. And how he got the information for the KKK as to where civil rights workers bodies were located. Schiro says he wasn’t a rat, he just did jobs for them.

Over to Andrea Giovino, who says she was 16 or 17 when she started becoming attracted to mobsters. She says she had low self-esteem at the time. She had no education and didn’t feel good about herself and she felt comfortable around mobsters; she could be herself with them, she didn’t fit in with other people. Joy asks if Andrea would have reacted to witnessing murder like Linda did, and Andrea says no, it would have been devastating. Andrea adds she has never witnessed a murder, although she did know about many of them. They discuss her marriage to John Fogarty. Andrea says he was a “freelance” mobster. He couldn’t be in the mob because he wasn’t Italian. But the crime families would give out work to associates to do for them. That’s what John did. Eventually she became a mobster herself. But then Andrea clarifies, she wasn’t exactly a mobster, but she did need to go out on the street and collect the money that was owed to John when he went to prison. Then she lent out the money to make more money to support her family. But a time came when she was arrested for giving out information or instructions to mobsters, was recorded, and got in trouble with the DEA. Linda Schiro blurts out Andrea was in the drug business…this starts a little war of words.

A little tiff between Linda Schiro and Andrea ensues when Linda is trying to make it sound like Andrea was dealing drugs and collecting money for it. Schiro insists that Andrea was selling drugs and Andrea denies it. Andrea explains she was not selling drugs, she was arrested for putting the money up, like the bank. And that money went into drugs deals. She says she never sold or was a party to drugs! Schiro clarifies, saying Andrea was indirectly associated to drugs. Andrea agrees. Joy adds so you were part of the problem…time for break!

Andrea says the day the DEA came to her house was the worst day of her life. Andrea’s whole crew was arrested. Both Andrea and Linda Schiro answer that they were never afraid of all the violence of the lifestyle. Neither was worried their husbands would get killed. Linda says Greg was so powerful she felt he was invincible and she was always safe with him.

On to the daughters…”Little Linda” Scarpa says she realized her father was in the mob when she was a teenager. Joy wants to know what Little Linda thinks when she hears her mother had no reaction to witnessing a murder. Linda answers, she doesn’t get it, her mother doesn’t see things the same way she does when it comes to the mob. Linda thinks her mother knew nothing else but the life her father showed her, and he had her trained for the lifestyle. And she was even trained before she met her father, by her grandmother. Linda Scarpa says there was nothing normal about her childhood. Schiro says they tried to give them a normal life inside the home. Andrea interjects, saying she can see what both Linda’s are saying. She explains when you grow up in that environment that is what your “normal” is, you don’t know anything different. Then Schiro says it was normal in her neighborhood to have mobsters and crap games…and Joy says that’s what is abnormal and Schiro doesn’t get it. Joy explains, you go to school just like other kids while your father is a murderer, that abnormal. Other kids fathers aren’t murderers. Scarpa tries to explain on her mother’s behalf.

Over to Brittany, Andrea’s daughter. She was eight months old when her father, John Fogarty, went to prison. She says that when she was about two the family was relocated to Pennsylvania and she has no memory of any of the mob life. Joy wants to know if it was shocking that her mother was a mobster? Brittany says not shocking, because it was always openly talked about in their household. She grew up hearing all the stories. Her father, John, is currently in witness protection. When asked about her relationship with her father, Brittany says he came back when she was about 11 and tried to establish a relationship with his children. But, the years of bonding were lost.

Joy asks Linda Schiro if she has fond memories of Greg and she says she does. Joy seems shocked. Linda says Greg was always giving gifts and the greatest gift she got was a Mercedes. They always had family dinner on Sundays and Greg and their son would always be home at 5 for dinner during the week. It was like living two lives, the one outside with violence and the one inside with family.

Linda Scarpa says that she also has some find memories, but she has a lot of anger issues with both her parents and the whole mob lifestyle and everything she saw. Schiro doesn’t understand why Scarpa is angry with her. Scarpa says her mother lived the life and she enjoyed it. But, Scarpa says she lived the life and enjoyed it up until the time she knew what was really going on. Until countless guys came up to her and her father’s cars shooting.

Schiro mentions that she didn’t like it that her son was murdered. She says it wasn’t a mob hit it was a kid fight. And Joy says that her daughter “Little” Linda was almost killed. So those are the risks you take when you chose to live that lifestyle. Linda says but aside from that, her 30 years with Greg were good, until he died of AIDS in jail.

Well I hope Joy keeps doing interviews with the women of I Married A Mobster. She seems to be getting more out of them then the show is. Kudos Joy for a job well done, and it looks like there was a little unforeseen pressure this time around!
