Mob Wives: Episode 6, Drita’s Evil Eye Tattoo

Drita goes to Masterpiece Tattoos for her new “Evil Eye” tattoo. Lee told her to put it on the back of her neck and that’s exactly what she does. The tattoo artist drew Drita’s own eye into the design of the tattoo. I guess it turned out pretty good if you like that sort of body art.

Drita explains the symbolism of the “evil eye” is to ward off evil. She is trying to ward off the evil people wish on her due to their jealousy. And when you look at the eye, the evil you wish on the person “hits you back.”

Drita thinks the final product is amazing! Do you?

Drita was so cute with her daughter last night and what a cutie PaTootie she is...But come on, a neck tattoo? Really?

Not that I'm surprised, all trailor park barbie's have atleast one. It will be good for her self esteem when Lee comes home and wants to settle down. Unfortuantly it will probably be with a younger hotter doe eyed stripper.

Her favorite housewife on NYC is Bethanny...Hmmmmm

I hate it. I don't care if others want tattoo's but this is weird looking and might be ok if the weird thing was left off the bottom.
I get the "idea"- but think it trashes her up, and not esp. pretty-
What do you think Chiara?

Chiara Soprano said...

Love, to be honest, I am not a fan of tattoos for anyone, but especially not women. Attitudes towards tattoos may have changed over the years, but I agree with you that for me it does give her a trashier appearance, as if her language isn't bad enough!

Jeanette would it be ironic of Lee came home and hooked up with someone else after she has been waiting all this time? I am going to check out your link, I think I am familiar with that housewife.

Mister Sister said...

I bet she has "LEE'S PROPERTY" on he whoo- haw.

Mister Sister said...

Sorry, "HER whoo-haw"

Chiara Soprano said...

If so, I hope she keeps that a secret, if not for me, for her dad!

Mister Sister said...

Well, you know Lee had her do something so when he was gone.... if she did go out on him, they would have to at least see that and be afraid!
I feel blessed in these days where kids go to FL springs breaks that my children are 0-4 No tats! So many of their friends come back with something silly, a rose on the ankle, etc.
Drita, this is not amazing.

Mob Mistress said...

Not a tattoo fan per se, but if it's not my skin I don't worry about it.

I think it's all right, I guess. I've seen worse tattoos. Hell it's not my neck so I truly don't care.

I have an angel tattoo on my lower back...YES, a bonified tramp stamp. I got it when I was 32 after my husband went to prison. I got it for me and a good friend drew it up to watch over me and the girls. Also, I was going thru a divorce. My oldest daughter never had one, she passed away when she was 21 3 years ago. When my middle daughter was 20 she got psalms 23 on her side. She is on the deans list at college and will graduation this year with a teaching degree.

I will fear no evil,
for you art thou with me

I was not with her, my youngest daughter went with her. I didn't know until after the fact but I knew she wanted this for Ashley.

My youngest wants one too eventually in Ashley's memory. I asked her to wait until she's a little order. I'm sure her sister will go with her.

Would I do it again, probably not. Am I against my kids getting something for Ashley. No.

If they had no reason, got one at spring break, I'd beat them in thier sleep. Just kidding, but I can't be held accountable for their father and grandfathers reaction. And they know it...

Chiara Soprano said...

Jnette, I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter and for what you must have gone through. There are no words for that kind of sorrow. As for your daughter's wanting a tattoo in memory of their beautiful sister, that is their choice and, under the circumstances, I can almost understand it. Tattoos are permanent, like their love for their sister. And, like I said, tattoos are not regarded as negatively, as they were in the past, nowadays. It's we who are "old" school that still carry that idea with us.

Jnettemariee said...

I agree Chiara and thanks for the kind words. Just in case you're wondering. Ashley died in a car accident right after her 21st. She was on her way home from work as a waitress after she had a few "shift drinks. She was a responsible young women, a sr in college, but like i always tell my girls...it only takes a split second to make a poor choice and it effect the rest of your life. unfortuantly she made that decision.

As tough as my family is, it changed everything. Some good some bad, but it sure as hell changed our perspectives on what's really important.

Mister Sister said...

jnettemarie,
I am sorry. I know you hate to hear that, but I don't have the appropriate words. I ave raised two children now adults, and have two 15 yrs olds, and YES, it can happen to anyone. It could of happened to me in my teens. Our heartfelt thoughts go out to you!

Jnettemariee said...

Thank you Love, and no I don't hate those words.

I think that tattoo is a good spot. When done well tattoos can add to a women's beauty. I think I agree with Love about the tattoo on her who-haw.

Chiara Soprano said...

Jeanette, what you just described about Ashley has always been my biggest fear. I tell my kids the same thing, but still worry that even if they do everything right, there will be someone on the road doing the wrong thing. I know you have to be strong for your other children and of course your family will never be the same. No one should ever suffer such a devastating loss. It breaks my heart, that this happened to you.

I LOVE Drita's tattoo, I'm almost finished sleeving my right arm, thinking about finishing it off with a similar evil eye. You go ahead an do you Drita, don't listen to the haters, your tattoo is as beautiful as you are!!
To the people saying that tattoos are trashy etc...so don't get any, but you have no right to judge other people who do, it doesn't effect you so why care? Clean up your own backyard before you start worrying about someone elses

Mob Mistress said...

LOL! Some people do not like tattoos and find them trashy. It's not a judgement it's an opinion.

To the Anon 6/2 directly above my comment, I am a viewer. I have an opinion. I give a two shits if your opinion differs from mine. I didn't come to your blog; you came to mine. You took the time to read and then comment so you care along with thousands of others. The day is 24 hours long. It doesn't take all day to post a blog or two, so I am living my life. Bye bye now!

tattoos r for anyone who willing wishes to have one, two, three how many they want!!!!!!!!!!ISNT IT OUR BODIES THAT GOD CREATED AND IF WE WANT TO GET ONE FOR WHATEVER REASON WHO FLIPPIN CARES! not for anyone to judge or bully only for that person to enjoy themselves.thank u a mom that rocks 15 tatts, and a corporate husband that has 93.were still good people!not trashy one bit

Mob Mistress said...

I for one didn't say anyone with a tattoo is trashy. However, many people think tattoos look trashy. I think women with mini skirts, fishnets and stilettos look trashy. It doesn't mean they are trash. I am glad with all those tattoos that your family member are able to be upwardly mobile. LOL!

Tattoos is such a touchy, touchy subject around here.

Jnettemariee said...

Hey to each his own...everyone is entitled to express thier opinion. Tattoos can be very nice if done right and in a tastful manner. Something nice on your ankle is much different then an eye on your neck. Just like different types of piercings Or wearing a business skirt as apposed to a mini skirt. tattoo's are no different.

Unfortuantly we live in a society where we are judged on our looks and first impressions. As someone who worked in HR the first thing we looked at was their appearance. If you showed up with neck tattoo's or other large tats, you werent getting a receptionist position at our company. You'd be offered something in the warehouse. Thats life...and sorry you all are so defensive.

Drita is a beautiful woman. The symbol of the evil eye, for her, is very appropriate. I need the negative vibes away from me, too. So I have considered getting the evil eye on my neck, like Drita. Her hair is down all the time, as mine is. I never wear my hair up, and if I did, so what, its my body. You never know who is giving you the horns, behind your back! Great idea, Drita, and I hope you don't get mad that I'm doing the same! Love you all! -Rina Gambino

Caterina said...

Drita is a beautiful woman. I am also exposed to evil thoughts against me. I think that is the perfect spot, and my hair covers it. So what if it doesn't, its my neck... lol! Drita I hope you don't mind that I am going to copy you. I get a lot of evil eyes flashed at me for my looks and like you, I think its a great idea. I wore the necklace for years, but I'm going to have my guy on Long Island do mine. Love Ya! Rina Gambino

Natalie said...

Think Drita picked an excellent and original tat. For all or any of you that do not prefer or understand tattoos and isnt part of your lifestyle, then no reason to be judgemental about something you just dont get. If nothing positive is to be said and you dont care for it, then Shut ya mouth, lol!
Would be more original and not make it the exact same but Im sure she started a trend. Did some research and love the stories and meanings behind:
The Eye Of Horus :)

Personally I like Dri! I mean I'd rather have a tat on my neck than on my ankle where u can't hide it... And I mean the only reason everyone calls her trashy is becuz they're jealous or envious of her!! I mean renee has a terrible mouth and no one talks about her or her vulgarity!! Come on stop hatin on the woman!! Looks like Drita got the eye to ward off people like you guys!! Drita Forever!!

I hate to do this but I am all out of tact today. First we are happy that you like Drita. We are sure Drita is overjoyed that you like her too.

Now your logic is flawed. You and I both know that you don't like everyone that you have come across in your lifetime. You mean to tell me that you are jealous and envious of all those you don't like. Get the the fuck out of here with that bullshit.

Moving along not everyone wrote that Drita was trashy. I know that some individuals find tattoos trashy. It's an opinion doesn't make it the truth. By the way, I am not envious nor jealous of Drita D'avanzo on any level remotely.

Drita doesn't need an evil eye for protection from people like me. I am curious does the evil eye work when her hair is down too? LMAO! People like me support her by watching Mob Wives and blogging about it. If we met, people like me would be cordial, respectful and if asked share our honest opinion. Thanks for reading, let's work on that reading comprehension or not generalizing. Toodles.

Jnettemariee said...

Annonymous, yea you right above mistress...

What trailor park do you hail from ?that would rather have a tatoo on your neck than on your ankle? How the hell to you hide a neck tattoo?

I love Drita, I think she's rough on the outside and soft on the inside. And I love Renee. They are not without thier flaws like the rest of us...Unless you're ON A REALITY TV SHOW, or LIVIN GANGSTA neck ink does not bode well with most. Myself included.

Must have hit a nerve with u people! u guys are bitter! U take every comment that people make to serious! Grow up!

Mob Mistress said...

LOL! We are grown. You don't know me to determine I am bitter. Also you are wrong again, I don't take comments seriously. I address them how I see fit. You don't like, don't come back. Easy, no? LMAO!

Love her tattoo and the meaning behind it.

TexMex said...

How about we all agree to disagree. Each one of us are entitled to our opinions... No matter how crazy they may be to everyone else. Let's hug it out ladies! :)

TexMex said...

Now to a more important subject, does anyone know what Lee looks like, or have any other information on this cheater..?!?!
I still can't believe this butt-head cheated on Drita. She's a hot momma with a rockin' body!? I seriously cried watching the show, because there is no doubt to how much she loved him. Seeing her in that much pain touched my heart, because like a lot of you out there know how it feels and it SUCKS!

Mob Mistress said...

LMAO @ Tex Mex!

I agree with you almost all the way. My issue isn't a difference of opinion. The issue is just because an individual doesn't like an opinion don't start making it personal.

We have no idea what Lee D'avanzo looks like. I am not surprise he cheated on her. It's part of the Mob culture to have a side dish. It's par for the course when you marry a Mobster or Mob associate. We appreciate your reading & commenting!

I think that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and if she likes the Taylor then,"f", anyone who doesn't! I do like it...believe it or not, I had an evil eye bracelet shatter into a million pieces at the exact moment that I was attacked by my ex-boyfriend...crazy but true...I felt that it warded off any more evil from happening!

LOVE Drita this season, much more then last year for some reason...hell yeah she was set-up at Renees B-day, BTW...

Personally, I think the "Evil Eye" Is intriguing, interesting I suppose. The "windows to the soul" tats are always popular and usually well done. I am mainly French and also have strong heritage in Amsterdam (no I don't do drugs haha), Transylvania and Albania. SO the "Fleur de Lis" ....a overly poular and copy-cat type symbol, represents who I AM. My bloodline. I wish to have it tattooed on my left forearm. My mom of course, old school, hates the idea. But loves our symbol haha. I currently have NO Tats and one belly button piercing. My decision to wait (now 23) is due to the fact that I don't want a stigma or negative tag put on myself when I am hired for Exxon after my Masters Degree in Geo-Microbiology (I do good, not Evil --for all my tree huggers out there!!!, I'm one of ya) :) It COULD cost me the career. Anyway, the Fleur de Lis is my heritage, and means a great deal to me (the stories about the old countries from my family, my ancestors' struggles ect) and I HATE that it's been used in such an over abundant, generic fashion (Dérion clothing...hopefully that's spelled correctly haha.. and Affliction brand ect)

Anyway, I love looking at Tats on people....I just think it's interesting....especially if it has a special story or meaning, or even if they are just beautiful or nicely done. Of course, YOU ARE right in assuming it comes at a social price. I suppose my Fleur de Lis tat is something I will have to either indulge or forget once I consult with my employers. I've never been the type to judge or gawk at a person with tats...man or woman. UNLESS I just HAVE to ask them about their experience or give a compliment on a nice piece of art. :)

Love the mob wives- so easy for people to judge them but we're not in their shoes, that's how they live and talk and it is what it is- people judge o. Their language and their girl fights and yea- I'm a lady and don't like to see it but at least they're real and showing their real selves not a scripted housewives trash "reality" show- what I NEED TO KNOW IS WHERE DRITA GOT THAT EVIL EYE NECKLACE!!!! I LOVE IT AND WANT ONE! does anyone have any ideas or advice on where to look??

Mob Mistress said...

The Fleur de Lis was used as the Dereon symbol due to the Knowles French heritage.

It tickles me to read how you want to use it due to your heritage. Yet you take issue with someone use of it who shares the same heritage on a major level.

WHERE DO I GET AN EVIL EYE NECKLACE LIKE DRITAS????ANYBODY KNOW???!!

This symbol is anything BUT evil. It's very ancient and goes back to ancient Egypt where it's called the EYE OF OSIRUS or ISIS...It was also adopted by Muslims as the EYE OF FATIMA which probably explains Dritas attraction to it, as the Albanians were ruled by Muslims by Ottoman Turks...Big Ups to Drita for choosing this very sacred symbol

Maria said...

well evil eye, Italian horn.... Isnt her husband Italian.... The Italian Horn Symbolizes the same thing Wards off Evil Simular Stories...... Butt I also wear Both Depends on My Mood...... I have Ink.... Butt the question was do you like Drita's.... I Think for the Location it is in, it is huge.. for an evil eye, Not to my likeing hate the Scrolling or design at the bottom its just too much... For Me.... As Long as Drita Loves it... That is What Matters..... Love you Drita Keep it Real as Always ...

Anonymous said...

I love the show and Drita but I hate that they refer to that tattoo as the "Evil Eye". That is the eye of Rah, the Egyptian sun god and its a very important picture of something in that culture and to egyptologist. I wish people knew better. That symbol is older than anything you know, including your language.

Anon said...

This symbol has two meanings actually.
If you're into sacred symbols you would know.
